At the time when Pakistan and India are engaged in some air warfare, it looks good idea to me that an active service war capable assets' inventory is published. I do not have any source other than Wikipedia about which I cannot be sure how current and accurate the inventory is. Moreover, this thread may belong to some other forum like 'war history' (it will surely belong to it after a few days).

Wrong.

First of all, the PAF has 76 Vipers and 100 Thunders. The rest are Mirages and Fishcans.

The total number of fighter/attack aircraft is around 680, a lot of the Mirages and Fishcans are used as conversion trainers but they're still fit for combat service.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan_Air_Force#Aircraft

It's worth noting that the Mirages and Fishcans have been extensively upgraded to meet more modern requirements, with the Mirages able to use advanced weaponry like Ra'ad.

PAF pilots have also proven throughout Indo-Pak history that they are far more skilled. Not only that, but the IAF has more serviceability issues, and lacks a sufficient number of pilots to man all of it's aircraft.

Here's an article discussing how PAF Vipers beat Typhoons three times in a row:

Right now numbers don't matter. Both sides have very capable aircrafts. Exploitation of capabilities of these aircrafts matter the most. Training standard. Strategy and tactics. Warfare doctrines. PAF has just 18 F-16 Block 52+ and these are a thorn for IAF. Throw in a mix of 1-2 Mirage III, 1 JF-17 and 1 F-16 in the air and the combination will be hard to handle. Different technologies, different strengths and weaknesses, complimenting each other.

JF-17s - 116 + please correct !
7 Squadrons
16*7=116 aircrafts !

The jf-17 of Pakistan are 130 plus please update info.

What matters is how both the Airforces will utilize the resources available to them in war. On 27th Feb PAF came on top as they were able to use there resources to the best of there ability.

In a SINGLE engagement that the PAF planned and executed with several assets and the best of the best of the PAF, not regular line pilots from ordinary squadrons.

The PAF also retreated the moment the IAF put nearly 20 Su-30MKIs and MiG-29UPGs in the air. Out of the 5 REK bombs dropped, 4 were recovered intact without having exploded. Only a nincompoop will say that was also done deliberately. 5 AMRAAMs were fired at Su-30MKIs, all missing.

Meanwhile, on the night of Feb 26, nearly a dozen Mirage-2000s ingressed INTO Pakistani airspace unchallenged and dropped weapons. So, while I don't expect a Pakistani forum to have any context, the facts are that shooting down a single Bison doesn't prove much.

Next time, be sure that the IAF won't be following RoEs that prevent it from firing BVRAAMs at PAF targets from across the border, the way the PAF did.

A war is not based on a single mission. Attrition will occur, several missions will fail and others will succeed. Only the force that has the depth, resources and the courage to sustain losses and continue will win a war. One battle alone doesn't matter. The real question would be how many days would PAF and IAF be able to sustain a full fledged war? It's clear which force has the greater resources at it's disposal, both of it's own as well as national resources.

Just Imagine if PAF has around 36 or 54 F-16's block 52's :o::butcher:

"C" versions will give longer legs compared to other aircrafts in PAF's current inventory. More modernized EW/ECM pods are most welcome.
