1. You can't call yourself Indian; I don't think we should be criticising any but our own.
2. You can't start a rape thread. This is just flaming. The statistics are in front of all of us.
3. The forum itself does not encourage it, but I have nothing to say about that. It is for the Mods to oversee and spot and act, if they think it inappropriate. I am just saying this is discouraged.

On the matter you raised, I am halfway between @masterchief_mirza <delicate shudder!> and @sinait, perhaps a hairsbreadth closer to @sinait.

For me, prostitute sexual services is a grey area.
In selling sex, be prepared to meet people not having the best of manners.

I don't think we should equate sex with a prostitute with an unwilling woman being raped.
The offence should be assault and not rape as the sex part of the deal had been paid.
For assault, there need to be evidence like bruises and injury to the body or vagina which was not mentioned in the article.

In principle, I am against prostitution, but believe the users of those services should be punished, never, ever the sex worker.

In India, a rapist gets a slap in the wrist (in many cases). Some of the prolific rapists enter the Indian Parliament as MPs.

In Singapore, a rapist will get tasered in his balls. Literally, they get rattan canes on their bare bottoms (not sure about the balls part).
