LONDON: The Interpol has again refused to issue Red Corner Notice against Dr. Zakir Naik, instructing all its offices to dispose of all the files and information about the religious scholar and preacher, who fled India a few years back. The Interpol has communicated India that the notice could not be issued for a lack of evidence about any wrongdoing, a spokesman for Naik in London told this reporter sharing with him the official correspondence. The Interpol’s Commission took the decision in its 109th session held on 01 to 05. Subsequently, the Interpol General Secretariat deleted all data on Dr. Naik on 15th July as per a letter from Interpol’s Commission for Control of Files. The decision comes as a setback to the Indian government that has been persistently trying to get a Red Corner Notice against Naik, who has been accused of radical preaching — a claim Naik rejects. This is the third attempt of the Indian government to convince the Interpol to issue the notice. The first attempt was made in mid-2017. The Indian government had multiple meetings and presentations with an Interpol team in New Delhi in the last one year, the source claimed. The letter addressed to Dr Zakir Naik, the Interpol’s Commission Secretariat said, “After a thorough examination of the elements before it, the Commission found that the data (read “charges”) challenged raised questions as to compliance with applicable rules”. The statement implies that the charges and allegations against Dr. Naik were unsubstantiated and vague, and the Indian authorities had failed to follow the due process of Interpol’s rules of charges and proof submission. The Session was listening to the charges made by the Indian government through the NCB of India against Dr Zakir Naik of “promoting enmity between two different religious groups on grounds of religion and doing acts prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony, being a member of unlawful Association etc." The Indian government had banned Dr Zakir Naik and his organization — Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) — in November 2016. Following the ban, all the operations of IRF were stopped, and all the staff [relieved of their duties]. Since the ban in 2016, the Indian government has charged Naik with terrorism and money laundering. Naik denies both the charges, terming them politically-motivated.

India trying to suppress religion, nothing more.

The fact is there was no evidence which was was clinching.
However the fact is a lot of hindus found it insulting the way he puts down other religions and specifically hinduism by giving very frivolous examples.
This has caused a lot of ire towards him.
Further this with shady source of funds it gives the govt a good stick to go after him. Try him for illegal source of funds but I dont think terror charges would stick at this point.

Religious persecution is rife in India under fascist ideologies India is famous for.

He tells the truth and he does not put down any religion even though I have difference of opinion with him over a few issues but still he tells the truth on the whole.

Anyone who studies the Hinduism at whatever level finds it beyond human comprehension and it's values.
What kind of people want to worship whatever moves and could pose a danger, either real or perceived!!

pathetic indians after a noble man!

Look mate, I can agree with half of your statement "Pathetic Indians".
The other half, "Noble Man" is way far fetching. Dr Naik is far from noble. He has learned much of his trade from "Deedat" copying his style and material. Now many of his followers have adopted similar styles following Dr.
Islam is far more beautiful and comprehensive religion to be dependent on some "rata baz", nobility it ain't.

Dr Noble is what I call, when it comes to business sell it. Nothing more to this man.
Take this example, if he stayed in his medical profession, what he would have earned and what life style he could have afforded in India!! Have you seen his life style before he had to flee India!!
All that for "ratafication" of borrowed material!!!

Where is Dr. Naik, these days? There are conflicting news.

He's open to debate

What a bullshit... did you print this lie from your chootarr.. Pakistan's percentage of Muslim population has been around 97% since after 1971 which means the total minorities have been around 3% and majority of which are Christians and Hindus were only 1.4% or less though now their population has increased to 1.6%.

Suppression, Right!!??

The Table "Overall share of Hindu Population in Pakistan" is totally fabricated, fake, fictitious and ridiculous, with all the figures concocted. Further, there was no population census in 1971. After separation of Bangladesh, the census was carried out in 1972. After 1951, the %age population of Hindus, in the West Pakistan (before 1971) and Pakistan (after 1971), has remain almost consistent, varying from 1.5-1.6%.
