The curious case of Nasr's terminal guidance

IMO ... I can't see how the Nasr alone fulfills the Army's requirement.

I understand the point (i.e., to deliver miniature warheads in a tactical scenario), but at 70 km, the range is limited. In fact, for it work you would have to pick-up Indian movements well in advance and, in turn, deploy the firing units to get in range of the IBGs' centers. This isn't including the threat of enemy air power, long-range SOW strikes, etc.

It appears that a need is still there for longer-range SRBMs, and of particular, an Iskander-type design. Basically, the same concept as the Nasr, but at 150 km and 250-300 km. A long-range attack capability will offer a quicker response time, especially if you have a dynamic/real-time ground surveillance capability to ascertain the IBG's composition.

The Abdali was planned with some upgrades around that concept but the launch time is too long.

We are going to lose ground, are going to fall back with our C3I in tatters.. but then by that time the targets will have moved from tactical to strategic.

It's entertaining to see the "best of the best" brought low to the ground 'cause reality is now catching up to them.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that.. considering your IP.. I know you and your family will burn.
Lets hope that happens sooner rather than later.

Increasingly I am also growing weary too...I tried to put on more casual front when he tagged me (i.e I dont even enter certain threads esp when I see how its heading etc)...but this stuff is grinding coz its consuming some good people who want to persist in such topics nonetheless and discuss stuff fairly. It becomes a coin flip as to whether it happens by who and what is introduced into the thread basically.

In retrospect I shouldn’t have responded, but that kind of religious tripe needs a shot back and gagging after..
its that mentality that killed my family, and now I see it as part of me.

In a way, its full circle from recognizing the idiocy of hatred to seeing the temptation and focus it brings.

It’s that constant battle of not caring for the online filth, to wanting to throw some and more back.. to actually wanting to find that person in reality .. tracing them down which I could.. and ripping their skin off... killing their family.. and darker paths.

Is it an anger fuelled by grief? Or is it a grief that has focused anger from all other aspects of life?

Somedays it’s laughably and shamefully clear.. other days it’s convuluted..
especially around the same time of year that it happened.

Didn't need to check my IP, I have no problems telling you that I am within the blast radius of even your smallest strategic nuke. If that helps you sleep at night, then good for you.

I will sleep well knowing that your country will be spoken in the same breath as Yugoslavia or East Germany. It will be an honour knowing that my "death" signals the end of an era and the beginning of a new one.

You have my deepest condolences for all that happened. It is not something that can be put in words, because words cant fix it. I only can offer my shoulder if you need it and a listening ear whenever you want it.

in conventional role how different is Nasar from A100E

Barak and Irondome is design to block all kind of artillery shells and rockets like A-100 but Nasr is designed to evade them and additional it can carry 400KG Ammunition.

It will be hypocritical to pretend that your deeply pained response was encouraging, but I remain your admirer, and hope you will get peace from the enormous burden you are carrying.

I am really interested in having an air launched version of Nasr. If GIDS can create a UAV for it, the army would be quite independent for CAS role.

Why do we need to strike at the heart of the formation? Taking out a number of forward units puts the rest in disarray. First, there is the psychological effect. Next, the terminated units form a natural physical barrier that forces the rear ones to maneuver around them. Now combine with an unexpected attack from the flanks and you have an enemy who doesn't know what hit him.

The whole point is, if we can achieve all this with just Nasr, imagine what we can accomplish when every element at our disposal works in unison. That is the main point of the thread. I fully support developnent of other longer range SRBMs.
