Urdu belongs to India, not Pakistan : Javed Akhtar

So what even if it is from Pakistan Egypt or outer space? It is a nice language with some beautiful poetry, lot of people use it, like it.

Why do even such good things become controversial
I like both Hindi and Urdu. We should use and promote both in India. My suggestion to teach Urdu in devnagiri script.

Urdu is a Muslim language

The ******** known it and just like everything else in India are trying to oppose it

Javed and his type and doing everything exactly like Jinnah said they would

First Pakistani should learn how to show loyalty to their own country. Indian Muslims claim Indian first and then Muslims like rest of the country. They are no different from others.

Idiots can't distinguish between "India"(the country) and "Indian subcontinent"...
...the retards who think Pakistan "broke away" from India are dumb beyond belief bcuz there was no India at that time...
...there was British Raj(a colony...not an independent India the country). Pakistan took its independence from the British...and stopped being a colony ..and so did India at the SAME TIME.

They were not one country from which Pakistan broke off. Before the British took over completely, the Indian subcontinent comprised of various different kingdoms(like the Mughal, Marathas, Bengal, Myesore, Junagadh, etc). Rewind the clock back even more and u will get various different empires with ever changing borders...none of which were ever called India.

The term India itself(along with Indian, Hind, Hindu, Sindh, and Sindhu) all are rooted in the Indus(Sindh) river...
...so even then the land of Indus would be Pakistan if we r going by the logic.

There was NO country called India from which Pakistan broke off.

This is nothing but a baseless lie fed to the Indian masses to suit their narrative of akandh Bharat or whatever(some useless dream to reclaim/reunite etc).

The reason there's a controversy...is bcuz this dumbass is just asking for attention by peddling lies to rile up ppl of India and Pakistan and increase his popularity. Irrelevant ppl do these things from time to time to get a few minutes in the press and in front of cameras before they inevitably go back to being irrelevant.

The name of their country belong to us given its a namesake of our River Indus. What a stupid pitiful small man.

These people of the ganges were literally taught how to wear clothes and cover themselves up. They are cultural and historical thieves. 90% of their claims are BS. I am sure they have edited their historical records as they went along to fabricate their history.

They have a 1% who are extremely intelligent and cunning who have revised the regions history to suit them, the rest of the 99% should just climb trees.

LoL, Urdu is written in Persian script. It is by definition not Indian. 😁
Huzur Gobar ka nasha sehat ke liye muzer hai, powder lijiye.... 😁🤣

Indian poet and writer Javed Akhtar, who has been recently making controversial statements about Pakistan, has declared that the Urdu language doesn't belong to Pakistan, rather it is an Indian or Hindustani language.

His comments came while speaking about the importance of the language at an event to launch an Urdu poetry album, titled 'Shayarana - Sartaj' which he attended along with his wife Shabana Azmi, Hindustan Times reported.

During the ceremony, Akhtar said that Urdu does not belong to Pakistan or Egypt but to India. "This language did not come from outside, it is our own language, it is not spoken outside Hindustan," he said.

Akhtar added that Pakistan itself came into existence after partition from India, and that earlier it was only a part of India, so the Urdu language "wasn't spoken outside Hindustan".

The Indian songwriter said that Urdu is the local language of united India, but that Punjab played an important role in promoting and popularising it. "It is not correct to consider Urdu a Pakistani language," he reiterated.

“Punjab has a big contribution towards Urdu and it is the language of India! But why did you leave this language? Because of Partition? Because of Pakistan? Urdu should be given attention,” he said.

Commenting on Indians who believe Urdu is a language of Pakistan, he asked that if Pakistan declared all of Kashmir as a part of it, would they accept it? "Urdu language should be given importance, the new generation of India has forgotten the Urdu language. Today more focus is on English. We must speak in Hindi because it's our national language," he said.

Akhtar further said that it is wrong to link languages with religion as language is not related to religion but to regions. "Therefore, Urdu is not the language of any religion but of India," he explained.

He has got it wrong...Urdu was born in ghaznavid era Lahore of 11th century. Yes sure it went on and developed in delhi and lucknow esp after qutb u din aibak moved capital feom lahore to Delhi ..but the origin was always present day pakistan.

First ever Urdu(lashkari/lahori as it was called) poetry was done by a poet called Masud Saad Salman who was an advisor to the throne in Lahore around 11 th century..

The above is not my claim but that of the one and only Amir Khosrow

So what?

Indus is something we adore and can't be abandoned.

You need to look at yourself in minor when you name Gauri, Babur etc..... Basically, these do not belong to Pakistan.
Did the aryans belong to India?

It still flows in India first before entering pakistan.
What india...IOK. its a disputed region recognized internationally....

They say rupaiyay.

We say rupay.

Btw it were the mughals and sher shah suri who started minting rupee as currency in 16th century and British later followed it and made it the official currency.

Can Javed Akhter say the same thing over a dinner of Beef Nihari ? or Beef Haleem ?

In a way maybe it is true. Look at Pakistan, if i watch the news - it is jumbled up english; then the other side hinglish galore with Pakistan's inferior complex is try to copy.

Here we have idarah za kiswahili that keeps luagaa safi - clean language - every year new words are added. Swahili is the national language and promoted as the only language of official business unless you are dealing with external parties. Do you have the same in Pakistan?
Indeed just read public signage it's all english written in nastaliq script, center, motor, school, shop, emergency, etc. etc.

Nothing like brainwashing the masses so you can keep your genetic power to enslave the masses.
