Federica Mogherini is an italian politician and currently the european foreign minister. She did visit Iran as the president was sworn into office and well...some iranian politicians behaved really strange towards her:

Mogerhini is known to be a very kind person but bystanders noticed how she started to feel uncomfortable. A group of politicians started taking pictures of her. One even grabbed her by her shoulder and pulled her towards him.

Mogherini is married and has two daughters. In italy some media voice that this behavior towards her was not respectful.

May be they were just happy to see / be seen with her because she's someone famous and important :what:

Strange indeed if true. I have never heard of this lady, but they are acting like they are meeting a celebrity.

I don't think it was strange. They were using this as an opportunity to take a photo with a prominent foreign politician. They should have just told her and made her aware of what was going on. No harm done. Innocent harmless mistake.

The thing is, she covered her hair out of respect for the iranian culture.

You would expect that the iranians would also show some more respect towards her.

The selfies are ok, but the guy grabbing her by her shoulder and pulling her towards him is definitly crossing the line

Her mere presence is amusing to them. She is an exhibit. How do idiotic Westerners allow a woman to do a man's job?

Just a bit of exuberance. Should not have done that but I don't think he meant any harm.

No one was disrespectful. This pretty woman is still smiling in the photo. It seems media is itself making it an issue, while it was neither an issue for her, nor she complaint against it.

Maybe they just wanted to talk with real Aryans ....

They're lucky that Catherine Ashton isn't the High Representative of the European Union anymore.
