Pentagon won't commit to Afghanistan troop withdrawal by May, says Taliban are not honoring commitments to US

USA needs Pakistan to stay in Afghanistan. if Pakistan closed its ports to US ships, the US forces wont survive for a second. that acts as leverage for the US not to put sanctions on Pakistan because we trade a lot with them and our industries cant afford to lose customers at this present time. so, i think the main reason is the state of our economy.
The result is a stalemate and a continuation of the civil war and Afghanistan bleeding into the next generation. Who does this benefit, certainly not Pakistan as the Pakistani civilians pay the price through terrorism.

The policy will change as Biden comes to office, Trump would have brought his soldiers back but Biden is from the Obama creed, and they love waging wars and spread " Democracy " to brown people.

I see disturbance ahead for Pakistan. Occupied PA is always beneficial to the ruling party of Pakistan.
that wasnt what he asked. he asked why PA are supporting USA in Afghanistan.

PA is not supporting any one in Afghanistan.
It's the political setup of Imran Khan who has started all activities in Afghanistan, in case you have missed it.

yeah, benefits Pakistan's economy at the expense of Pakistani lives. that is why Trump was better for Pakistan than Biden.

Not as bad as being occupied by nawaz-not-so-sharif and the zardari/bhutto nexus....... :disagree:

What’s the deep state that you keep referring to?

The Pentagon, CIA, US military, mainstream media, military institutions, neocons both in Democratic and Republican party, US think tanks that support war etc. Basically those high-level elements that shape directly or indirectly policy making and profit from wars. The deep state exists. It is a state within a state. They shape the narrative. They shape the debates. They make decisions.

Who do you think was opposing Trump's plan to exit wars? The answer can be found above.

To date no one in the US has given a clear real answer as to why the US forces are in Afghanistan. Surprising thing they are supported by Pakistan in their mission so PA is in the game for reasons we don't even know. So the next question is why is Pakistan supporting the US mission in Afghanistan even though the US is colluding with the Indians?
If Pakistan suspends the NATO supply route, it will be sanctioned.

Iran Khan is worst of the lot... go ask in streets of Pakistan.

Again, opinions are not CREDIBLE and GENUINE facts and evidence.

You seem like a well grounded intelligent person. You are also probably well educated too. So why do you support and defend the Lords of extreme corruption AKA nawaz-not-so-sharif and the zardari/bhutto nexus?. There is no reason for your blind loyalty. Only Pakistan matters. The well being of Pakistan and the Pakistani people. To hell with all else.

trump good or bad reason has set the withdrawal ball going. I don’t think it can be stopped now by Biden

Americans are tired, pm Imran Khan visit was given full red carpet treatment. Americans want out, Taliban is no risk to Washington. only people to screw this up leave will be Liberal Democrat’s spiteful or , anti Pakistan interests to help Indians out

Read the sentiment on US media right now. Even the most ardent warmongering portion of US media fully acknowledges there is no way out. The penny has dropped. The US now fully realises it has no easy way out of the Afghan war. All options on the table are last resort options. There is no face saving exit. Trump has made sure the Democrats have no leg to stand on. The Democrats still wanted some form of victory on their way out of Afghanistan. That was wishful thinking, but Trump made absolutely sure that even a fake victory for optics is now virtually impossible.

Ideally the Democrats would have loved to continue warmongering with no end in sight. The problem is that Trump has made certain deals. US credibility is at stake. The Taliban will have a license to continue their march towards Kabul. En route they will spare no one.
