LAHORE: The flashy and opulent Galleria Mall is known to host grand launch events where the décor complements the classy designer collections without a doubt.

Tuesday night was no different. Prêt and couture designer duo Saira Shakira unveiled their bridal collection ‘Zohra’ which they had showcased at the recent PFDC L’Oreal Bridal Week. Organised and arranged by the creative team behind Savvy PR & Events along with Amjad Bhatti, the event’s décor was lavish, festive and perfectly matching the theme of the collection, which was beauty and elegance.

We loved the dominant pastel hues used in the collection, the subtle look of the couture pieces as well as the every intricate designs Saira and Shakira brought forth. "I wouldn’t say it’s a new collection as we showcased it in September. However, Zohra now has the entire store to itself, where people can walk in and place orders," Saira Faisal said, while talking exclusively to Daily Times.

We asked Shakira how the name Zohra came about. Was she a family member? An old flame? Someone they remembered fondly? "No, Zohra doesn’t exist in person. We simply thought the name sounds classic; elegant, sophisticated and very beautiful," she said.

The delicious catering by Pink Pistachio at the event also deserves a special mention.

Zohra is not just pretty and pixie-like to look at; the designers, who are extremely stylish and stand out on every red carpet event themselves, ensure that it’s comfortable to wear and carry as well.

"Saira Shakira is a well-known label in the Pakistani fashion industry and their new collection Zohra is for every girl who is getting married. The colours are festive and the work is intricate. They are perfectionists and know how to transform their vision into couture. Asma T did a lovely job with the hair and make-up for the designers as well as the models. The yummy food by Pink Pistachio and those white florals transformed the store into a fairy tale," Aamir Mazhar of Savvy PR said, also while talking exclusively to Daily Times.

Following the preview, Saira Shakira hosted an exhibition the next day which was open for the public.

The collection consists of a total number of 15 womenswear couture creations featuring intricate handwork and embroideries over contemporary cuts and muted pastel tones such as, ivory, jade, powder blush, etc. Fabrics such as tulle, chiffon and organza have been used to create luxe ensembles.

Another huge event in the Pakistani Fashion Industry coming soon: HUM Bridal Couture Week.

6 desi girl struggles of wearing an off-shoulder top

Want to be like Sohai Ali Abro and rock some bare shoulders? Be warned!

If you're not careful your selfies can look decidedly... nekkid.

It's chic, it looks good, but it is a pain and a half when worn. Safe to say, if you haven't tried on an off-shoulder top you haven't suffered the miseries of a love-hate relationship.

The off-shoulder top has been trending for months now — everyone's wearing one.

But it's tragic that such a beautiful piece of clothing can cause so much hurt #TheStruggleIsReal.

Here's just a few problems you'll encounter if you've ever tried the off-shoulder top in Pakistan:

1) To strap or not to strap:

Ah, the nightmarish tussle with bra straps.

If you think girls have issues dealing with cramps, welcome to the world of bra straps. To wear an off-shoulder one needs a strapless bra, so question, where do you get a good one in Pakistan? Secondly, transparent bra straps fail to help, especially when taking pictures with a flash, or anywhere with bright lighting.

2) How low can you go?

It's called a game of, 'How Low Can You Go Till Your Aunt Drops To The Floor,' — nah, we're messing. But seriously, how low is too low when wearing an off-shoulder top? Will the neighbourhood aunty call you the 'out' larki if you step out baring too much skin?

We need a guide, please.

3) Chub playing peek-a-boo:

Oh the horror! Some of those off-shoulder tops come with nasty elastic around the neckline. Those elastic straps are devious, we tell you; they're so tight they cause even the most toned arms to look flabby.

4) With arms wide open? No. Not quite:

Forget hugs, forget reaching for high cabinets, and forget about taking selfies from up top too. It's absolutely impossible to keep an off-shoulder from riding up your shoulders unless you've mastered the art of wearing a straitjacket.

Arms by your side at all times, otherwise you can keep pulling those shoulders down.

5) The disappearing waistline:

There's no denying that off-shoulders look adorable, however, some styles can cause you to look boxy and kill your curves and tiny waistline in the process.

It's unfortunate, but it's true, Amna Baber is an example of how excessive frills and off-shoulderness can be a hot bod killer.

6) The curious case of the nude selfies:

Possibly the worst thing that can happen to you when wearing an off-shoulder top: taking selfies and looking like you're wearing nothing.

Yikes. You have to include part of the outfit in your selfie. Have to. Learn from Mahira Khan here, she's managed to sneak her top into the selfie!
