Nine dead, dozens wounded in blast at police headquarters in southeast Turkey
(Reuters) - A car bomb explosion rocked a police headquarters in the town of Cizre in Turkey on Friday, killing nine people and wounding dozens, sources said, in the latest in a spate of attacks in the country's turbulent south east.

News channel NTV showed large plumes of smoke billowing from the site which it said was a police checkpoint. Cizre is located in Sirnak, a province that borders both Syria and Iraq and has a largely Kurdish population.

Ambulances rushed to the scene and hospital sources said at least nine people were killed and 64 wounded.

State-run Anadolu Agency blamed the attack on the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) which has been involved in almost daily clashes in the region since last July, when a ceasefire between it and the government collapsed.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union. More than 40,000 people, mostly Kurds, have died since the rebels took up arms in 1984.

On Thursday Interior Minister Efkan Ala accused the group of attacking a convoy carrying the main opposition party leader, Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

The government has blamed the PKK for a series of attacks this month in the southeast. The group has claimed responsibility for at least one attack, on a police station.

As you will crack down against your enemies this will be inevitable.

Its horrible but the Turkish nation needs to join together, steel themselves and carry on with full force, something Pakistan has had to do too. In the meantime time keep growing and strengthen your nation and military. Your national, economic and military strength and growth is whst ensures your freedom as Turks

Your enemy will try to break you but use every blast, death or attack as a motivator to finish them, grow stronger and get brutal, cruel revenge Ottoman style

Remember your enemy is not just PKK or other terrorists its much much bigger and even includes those you would consider allies and NATO members

They have already tried with the coup and were slapped down by tge Turkish people, but they will try again

Condolences to the families of the dead

What can Turkey take away from this and past experiences? For starters, Turkish intelligence services are proving to be inept. It seems that civilian targets as well as Turkish police and military are attacked daily. The coupe which was a major operation was also never foiled.

There are major holes in the intelligence branch.

The Gülenists did a good job in providing false infos to Turkish officials while giving away troop deployment routes etc. and similar infos to pkk for exsample.
Just to let you know about the magnitude of this even, @Sinan said something like the gülenists within MIT wiped out the servers not long ago resulting in loosing all the informations about the moles that infiltrated pkk.

Another example is how Turkish jets have been bombing Kandil mountains in Iraq for a long time, yet never those senior pkk leaders were hit. I don't remember which ex-Gulenist it is, but according to him when Turkish jets took off to hit Kandil, somehow this information was transferred to pkk leaders in Kandil.

Another example; coords were given to Turkish jets to hit while in reality there were no pkk elements in that coords (i wouldn't be surprised if some/many of those bombing footages we get to see on TV were inaccurate bombings).

Then there was also a claim by an ex-Gulenist that Turkish infiltrators in pkk were betrayed by Gulenists in the army revealing their id to the pkk.

Whether all of these are true should be thoroughly examined and brought to light, but it's a fact there were unimaginable big holes in our intelligence, army and other institutes due to those Gulenists, and i doubt it will be possible to completely eradicate these cancerous parasites.

Qandil isn't important anymore, whole terror problem comes from N.Syria.

We must clean our borders from these terrorists or else this attacks will never stop.

How do u think they can use at least 2tons of explosives for every attack, it's obviously from Syria.

They train there, learn how to make bombs etc etc.

Rest in Peace

I believe Turkey must forgot this new ideas of treating traitors and terrorists such and such and become hard against them the only solution is to hit back one hundred time as harder as they hit.
These nonsense ideas of fairness to appease European union and western NGOs never ever worked and never will work against these scums . you must treat the scums as they deserve if anybody have any problem with that they can go and ........

Probably death penalty will return. I think the majority of the public wants it after the failed coup attempt by Gulenists. If the parliament approves the death penalty, which is likely, then i'm sure it will also be applied to pkk terrorists. Actually i would like it if there will be a referendum about the death penalty, because it will be the public then who will show the finger to the EU.

The Death Penalty will never return, there's not a chance.

There is no holes, even us(israel) during the intifada times we were unable to stop all the suicide bombings with all of our intelligence and more tools, even a military operation just reduce the attacks but wasn't stop them.
but then we built the wall and it stops.it's not a solution for turkey because turkey itself is home for many jihadists.
