New figures show the production of items and equipment developed based on nanotechnology in Iran witnessed a six-fold rise in a period of nine years.
According to a report by the Committee for the Development of Nanotechnology at the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy, 1,376 nanotech products or pieces of equipment have been developed in the country during the time span.
The figures show 271 companies producing nanotech items and 64 firms making equipment using the same technology were registered in Iran until the end of 2022.
In the last Persian calendar year, (which ended in March 2021), the value of Iran’s exports of nanotech products stood at $62 million, according to the report.

Iranian built drilling rig "Top Drive" machinery

Thanks to the sanctions again! an Iranian Private company Tieco has designed and built this very important "on shore/off-shore" drilling rig equipment for the National Iranian OIL company . The order is for 15 NTS 500 units and each unit is capable of drilling to the depth of 4000 meters. Two units already delivered.

Iranian firm unveils home-made polyurethane foam for use in car seats

An Iranian company launches domestic production of polyurethane foams that are used in car seats.
An Iranian company has unveiled a home-made polyurethane foam for use in automobile seats, an initiative that is expected to enable the country to cut back on nearly $450 million worth of imports per year.
The Iranian made foam was unveiled by Saipa Azin, a subsidiary of Iran’s second largest carmaker Saipa, in a ceremony in Tehran on Tuesday.
The company said it had mastered the technology to produce the special polyurethane foam under a partnership with Karun Petrochemical Company (KRNPC) as the supplier of the raw material needed for manufacturing the foam.
The KRNPC’s plant is located in southern Iranian port of Bandar Imam Khomeini. It is a leading supplier of the raw material needed for manufacturing various types of foams in Iran and in the West Asia region.
A report by the IRIB news said the company has supplied some 40 metric tons (mt) of its newly-developed KCS-20 product to Saipa Azin for manufacturing car seat foams.
Mehdi Pazouki, a senior member of Saipa’s managing board, said that Iran used to spend some $440 million per year to import nearly 200,000 mt of the raw material needed for polyurethane foam production.
Over the past years, Iran has supported industrial projects that seek to manufacture products whose imports into Iran are either costly or almost impossible because of American sanctions on the country.

curious about how the IRJ-72 could be, this evening I wanted to play with the images, starting from a photo of the "Simorgh", and with cut, copy, stretch, modify and paste, this is the result.
:ashamed:

The winglet design, the wing design and the cockpit glass... there are some odd design choices and some mistakes here and there but it's fine. The question is, if Iran can mass, produce this thing?

Is the engine core the same with the Kowsar? jus a High-bypass turbofan version?

until a few years ago I was unaware of how much plastic Turkey is exporting to Iran.

For a country with so much oil, Iran is remarkably underdeveloped in petro-chemical industry

Iran exports $18 billion dollars of petrochemicals a year. However the diversity of petrochemical products may be somewhat limited due to Licencing/Technology transfer issue stemming from Sanctions.

Iran’s petrochemicals export reaches $18b since last March
