SRINAGAR: Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) chief Syed Salahuddin on Friday claimed his cadres were involved in the killings of five Indian soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu & Kashmir's Poonch district on August 6. The claim is likely at the behest of the Pakistani military establishment, which has denied its role in the killings that fuelled fresh tensions along the LoC.

The P-o-K based militant commander said his outfit's border squad was involved in the ambush, as part of its strategy to shift its activities to the border areas after street protests gained traction in the Valley since 2008.

"If India blames the Pakistan Army for the killing of five soldiers in Poonch sector, let me make it clear to them that Hizbul Mujahideen's sarhadi (border) squad killed them under a specific strategy,'' Salahudin told local KNS news agency.

"After the launch of peaceful protest movement by the Kashmirs in 2008, militants shifted their activities to the border areas and intensified their attacks along the LoC.''

He said neither Pakistan nor India can stop their activities along the LoC. "From Keran to Karnah and till Ramban sector (sic), our mujahideen are busy fighting the Indian troops. Sometimes our mujahideen achieve martyrdom, sometimes Indian troopers are killed."

The HM chief said ceasefire violations and infiltration would continue until the Kashmir issue is not sorted out.

Excellent. give us this chap-Syed Salahuddin, who has admitted to killing Indian soldiers or accept that retaliation is warranted since you are guilty of harbouring a chap who just confessed to killing Indian soldiers. Makes this worse, not better.

Use your brain occasionally. Even if they have killed, that guy is sitting in Pakistan under Pakistani state protection and that gives India FULL RIGHT of retaliation against Pakistani state.

Can you comprehend ANYTHING other than ancient fairytales??? Has the Pakistani state's non state actor lame story damaged your brains to an extent that you do not understand the rights and obligations of a sovereign state???

KOTLI: The Indian army on Saturday allegedly violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (Loc) in Nakial Sector, Azad Kashmir, by firing across the border and killing one Pakistani soldier besides injuring a woman on Saturday, Express News reported.
The incident follows two consecutive days of firings across the LoC that have resulted in the deaths of at least four army personnel.
On Friday, Pakistan had summoned the Indian High Commissioner to lodge a strong protest against the killing of two Pakistani soldiers (Captain Sarfraz and Sepoy Gul Wahab) and the injury of four others (including civilians) from unprovoked firing along the LoC from the Indian side of the border.
Cross border incidents of firing across the sensitive LoC have heightened tensions between the two nuclear armed neigbhours and have prompted world concern.
