Bursho people Pakistan (Hunza Valley)

Bursho people are a mysterious people, no body knows their origin, they live in the Hunza valley of pakistan. Their population is estimated to be around 100,000, though it's probably more considering they live all over Pakistan

They claim to be greek origin, however recent genetic tests on them doesn't really link with greek/Macedonians

Their language is also very different from the surrounding indo european languages:

this area was the corridor for the foreign invasion into sub continent, and lots of genes from far flung corners of asia had got mixed with them

the area is particularly beautiful so many people had stayed back there

^ indeed, history of pakistan is just amazing. Two years ago I went to the museum in New York and they had a pakistan exhibit going on. The amount of ancient artifacts from Pakistan was just unbelievable. Unfortunatly many items are smuggled out of Pakistan illegally. The Indo Greek Kingdom that was based in pakistan, produced one of the greatest artistic collaborations ever seen in the history of the world, yet hardly any pakistani knows about these things

I really love this 3000 year old piece from northern pakistan, you can see how strong greek/european culture was then in Pakistan, playing musical instruments. Unfortunately many of the ancient buildings were destroyed long ago

many of them totally look white, I knew this hunza guy here in Canada and no body could tell he was pakistani. He had blonde hair and green eyes

This brings to mind, the diversity of the subcontinent is just amazing, you have black people living in south india and andaman Islands, while in the east you have oriental looking people and in northern pakistan you have (european/Caucasoid) type people
