Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Nawaf Saeed Al-Malkiy called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa here on Monday.

The army chief and Saudi ambassador discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and bilateral defence relations between the two brotherly countries during the meeting, military’s media wing, the ISPR, said in a statement.

On Saturday, General Qamar had also expressed his condolences over the death of Saudi Arabia's Assistant Minister of Defence Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Ayesh.

The army chief expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and Saudi leadership, adding that Pakistan and the Pakistan Army have lost a true friend who was a shining symbol of brotherly relations between the two countries.

"We stand with our Saudi brethren in committing ourselves to the ideals of fraternity and brotherhood that he always championed," the ISPR quoted him as saying.

Don't discuss,

Do something

I'm sure this is a behind the scenes patch up of sorts but the reality remains whilst Pakistan has alot to thank the Saudis for we need to decisively hurt India

India is a hindutva extremist state with anti muslim bigotry at its core

The Muslims worlds problem are exasperated that rather then dealing with these enemies we make alliances with them to hurt each other

And if one of us rises we seek to cut them down with the help of these anti muslim states

India is divided Internally
The region is tired of their delusions of grandeur
China has stepped on them
Now is the time to make their hindutva extremism cost them
Step up to the plate OIC/Saudis

Ok, this is really annoying that this so called Ambassador was allowed to meet COAS like this. It sends a really bad message that Pakistan takes one step forward and 20 steps backwards. Why the hell is COAS being allowed to dictate foreign policy like this is beyond a joke. Honestly, if this joke is going to continue like this, all the allies of Pakistan specially China will leave Pakistan to suffer and humiliated like a person standing with a begging bowl. Pakistan nation does not deserve this, nor does it deserve to be kept hostage by the existing corrupt establishment including the Military at the behest of countries like Saudi, UAE, India and US. Bajwa needs to get things straight and stop this humiliation of Pakistan people and its military jawans.

Can Pakistan afford to piss the Saudi's? NO
Can Pakistan assimilate the 100,000's workers back into Pakistan if thrown out by Saudi's? NO
Can Pakistan afford to call back its forces from Saudi Arabia and lose funding? NO
Can Pakistan survive without oil on deferred payments given by Saudi? NO
Can Pakistan afford to have its Haji's denied entry into Saudi Arabia on any pretext? NO

So basically Bajwa is saying to the Saudi Ambassador, sorry but our installed puppet mucked up!

Agreed! It happens only in Pakistan. Why did the Ambassador not meet with the representatives of the Government? What has COAS got to do with this besides cementing the impression that government is only a puppet and army the Puppeteer.

Maybe it's per design to create the confusion!!! By the by, the KSA/UAE are all like very "artificial" countries to begin with! Messing too much with Pak won't be too much in their favor!! It should strike "terror" into their hearts....

Absolutely correct on all points. But I do wonder if SMQ was alone in this muck up, he probably had the support of the PM too.

Thanks saudia for all your help but it's time to get rid of you. Basically it's time to make pakistan a nation and not a puppet country where wahhabi and Shia fight for supremacy. Time has come to limit the influence of both Iran and saudia. Enough is enough. No need to accept more assistance. Time to move on. Our core issue will remain kashmir. If trade with India is important for Arab than we have our own priorities as well. Kindly close all madrassa and imam bargah of these two sects and make more and more mosque. We are a Islamic country and we shouldn't allow any more influence of these two evil countries. People of pakistan aren't for sale. It's our country and we have every right to adjust our policies.

People in Pakistan were living hand to mouth even before leaving for dubai. If Arab sends back every citizen than we shouldn't worry. Let people decide their future. It's time to move on and kindly stop taking dictation from arabs.

Others will always try to create confusion however the responsibility lies upon oneself not to fall for such ulterior motives. If COAS is entertaining envoys of other countries, than he is doing so knowingly that he is undermining government thus giving the impression who is in control which is such a shame considering how Pakistan has always been affected by the constant meddling by the so called establishment.

Agreed.
I cannot fathom a person of the experience of SMQ would say anything like that all on his own. He must have had some working done, as well as backing of the PM. If there was none, he should have already been kicked out of office. This too came on the ARY which is known to be pro-govt and pro-PTI so the anchor might have been fed the questions for appropriate answers

Pakistan people are not getting charity from these Saudis or any other Arab states. They work very hard to earn their money. There are many qualified people who have left SA and UAE to find better jobs else where including Australia, NZ, etc. It is the Pakistan laborers who have suffered like slaves at the hands of their Saudi masters. It is time to bring them back home and give them decent jobs within the CPEC project. It is the responsibility of Pakistan Government and also the Chinese to ensure these people are treated fairly. It is time to stand up and get rid of dependency and being held hostage by the Gulf Arabs states.

Getting sick to death of bowing to these guys. Yes, they helped out immensely when we needed money but help has not always been one way. The crux of the matter here is that they told our PM not to attend Malaysia summit with Iran, Turkey and Qatar and they would raise Kashmir at OIC. They then visibly failed to do this. So we got the worst of both worlds, letting down 3 countries who had spoken up for Kashmir at our behest and also failing to get the Saudis to raise at OIC. IK left high and dry, so payback time (literally in the case of the loans the Saudis gave us!). The Saudis, once realising that Pakistan would start repaying back loans after they ask for the money (instead of IK jumping on a plane and asking for forgivness and more time) are now panicked. We actually paid back the loan early! Once Saudis know we can do this than the leverage they have over Pakistan diminishes. Yes, they can send back Pakistani workers but than they are closing the door on one of the most enduring and closest relationships in international politics. Do not get too carried away by Indian influence, Saudi exports more to Singapore and India is just above Belgium in terms of Saudi's biggest export markets. Saudi stance could probably be to US pressure as US now sees Pak/China almost as one against India.

If Pak Mil withdraws it's support Saudi is left reliant on the US for total security. Not something they will be happy with.

In the light of this, the meeting with COAS makes complete sense, could be even IK refused a meeting with Saudi envoy.

MBS and his emotions may of got the better of him now, if Pakistan completely joins Iran, Qatar and Turkey, this will be one of the biggest ever failures of Saudi diplomacy ever, likewise (and take into account Qatar's recent massive air force expansion and modernisation), you have 3 very powerful rivals all with coasts on the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea

So Saudi want their pets "sharifs" back in power? that is it all about? Whatever SMQ said was planned between Government and GHQ because some corrections were needed in Pak-Saudi relations.

Some people are behaving like everything is Imran Khan's fault because he is selected by GHQ, as if governments before him were not chosen by the establishment.
