What's new

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has issued a decree banning Pakistani trucks from entering the country

You can't hav any meaningful trade via karakoram(cpec) highway. This is the reason 99% of your trade with china is happening via sea route.

You think so?????..............just like you indians proclaimed that Pakistan would NEVER EVER become a nuclear weapons state with or without Chinese assistance. That it is impossible for Pakistan to do so.........

First tell me why 99% of your trade with china is happening via sea route Not cpec high way?

Topic in hand is Afghanistan not Pakistan trade with China..To clear your thoughts apply the same logic to Afghanistan they have to import everything through sea from Pakistan...which Pakistan is not bound to continue and allow them indefinitely...As none of there other neighbors has offered them existing operational port

I know it is off topic. But its a reply to another member's claim they can trade with CAR via karakoram highway

It will switch around once CPEC is up snd running

Whole point of Gwader and CPEC for China is to develop western China

Basically
China is big but its central and western half is sparsely populated no one wants to shift from a overpopulated eastern China because the same opportunities do not exist.
So China is spending Billions on building the libraries, hospital, schools etc
However without businesses and factories switching over its tough to develop western China

The problem is a factory making e.g pencils in western China will be in direct competition with a factory in eastern china making the same thing but the factory in eastern china has direct port access snd a large workforce pool

Whilst same factory in western china has to transport product across China to eastern ports to ship out, the added transport cost makes products uncompetitive

CPEC fixes this for western China
Not only is it a geo strategic alternative to its congested south china seas route, but a direct link to oil, gas, minerals etc for GCC, iran, Afghanistan, Africa

Also a direct port route for Western China to gets its products shipped out to Africa, GCC, middle east, even Europe via suez as an alternative to road or Northern Route.

Its only starting now but once set it will be vital for both China and Pakistan and as Pakistan is underdeveloped, primed for economic expansion, needing everything from cars to TVs etc its the start of a big economic push for Pakistan

Yes but CPEC route will link directly into OBOR

What we are talking about is a Major road and infrastructure project whose entire aim is to make the flow of trade quick

The safest route is not through Afghanistan which is a basket case but simply through its panhandle

But with Afghanistan playing up a small detour around the pan handle with all the roads being built is easier and cheaper, not to mention safer

Afghanistan is only screwing itself deeper

The air corridor is a failure
Chabahar is not even ready and even if it does get ready its far from Afghan population through alot of hostile territory with no end to civil war

We told the Afghans we hate Indian's and dont want trade with them or their trucks as they are a security risk, Afghanistan can send their produce but must waut for alternatives for indian kak

There is a better option for Central Aisan countries to connect to Arabian sea rather than CPEC: That is Chabahar and directly to north Iran and to Turkmenistan. Please see the below images. They can even avoid Afg. for all the concerns you stated above.

If you hate Indian's its your problem not of Afg. You already had traded for 2.4 billion $ and this is not one which is done via Dubai which is expositionally higher than this number.

No matter how small Afganistan is, it has bigger cards to play. Indian goods are cheaper than what Pakistan offers to Afg. and will be much cheaper with the overland route rather than via Chabahar so Afg. has a right to talk about there interests.
It is the hard fact. Indian goods would outmatch Pakistani goods what you can offer to Afg. and central Asian countries. So it is pure business. You want to block India to safeguard your markets. Your customers are asking you to either match the price or they will arm-twist you for allowing cheaper goods from other sources.

It is the biggest misconception or false narrative spread by member's here. China will ship their products via Pakistan in return they can collect tolls.(some of them r plain absurd claims like toll amount will be three times the Pakistan budget). Chinese never said they r going to use Pakistani ports to ship their products. They repeatedly said it is for development of Pakistan. It upto your government to industrialise your country and export your products.

Chabahar is not a deep sea port neither is it developed

Iran is in a pseudo war with the USA and Israel (we support iran in this and hope they win) but are sanction prone

Afghanistan is a basket case

Gwader is a natural deep sea port, the infrastructure for CPEC and OBOR is almost in place with major multi billion dollar development

Ultimately there is space for both Gwader and Chabahar

Indian products are Junk
They have always been poorly made junk, what can india give which isnt made better or cheaper in China

India does have a route, you have
1- Air corridor
2- Chabahar

Use those why are you or anyone for that matter asking Pakistan for access when those alternative routes exist?

Could you please provide a link to your claims. If not, then what you say is mere propaganda and retarded bollywood fantasies.

Of course, but western China needs a port without it they are stuck

But CPEC is not the start nor is it the end, its just another venture.

Pakistan is underdeveloped, our people yearn for cars, computers etc the rich and middle class have those things but everyone else wants them too.
There is more money and economic activity in Pakistan then any "statistics" allude to

So Pakistan WILL have high digit growth coming decades
They WILL expand as an economy
There WILL be confirmation internationally that Pakistan is a economic hotspot prime for fdi and growth

CPEC just supports that

As long as we don't have any indian made crap filtering into Pakistan we are fine
