What's new

Hindi and Urdu words learning thread.

Zaki already answer it though Allah is Allah and world of Qur'an whereas Khuda mean god in Farsi.

Al mean THE in arabic and it is used to emphasis the meaning of world. Perhaps respect as you have mentioned.

I use La for Hasina. La mean NO in arabic and hasina mean beauti in urdu. So la-hasina. This women neither has any hasin surat nor akhlaq........

Siraf Haseen Kaarname .....hehehe:toast_sign:

Ya I found it in a Hindi serial called Pratigya in Star Plus. The story is set in Allahabad where the families are quite old-fashioned.

I think it was Dikkat in the serial as Zaki bhai has already told you...

Kya Dikkat hai...

In rustic hindi spoken in the hindi belt it can be construed as

Kya Dikhat Hai - What are you showing? Using Dikhat instead of the full word "dikaata"

In BD there are few English Medium schools where it’s compulsory to learn French or Chinese language. I know in India the school students learn other languages like French for better future career and that’s very good. So what about PK? Do the students in there learn other languages?

In India ,We have in General English,Hindi and choice(mostly the state's language). There are ofcourse options to learn for eg..where I studied have Syriac as an option IIRC(if i recall correctly).

in Pakistan you learn English, Urdu, Arabic and Persian languages in your schools. I don't think they teaches any other European languages in most part of the country at least
