Female teachers being given weapons training in Peshawar

Punjabis have the best hair among any ethnicity in Pakistan. Period

if i see some nice stuff, i don't care if its punjabi, pathani, sindhi, balochi? etc? no offense to you guys ofcourse ;)

but there is something about pathani? khocha? ;)

How does it help? These morons are well trained, with better arms and most importantly ready to die........ What those poor teachers can do with their pistols? I see this as a symbolic action.....
False sense of security.

Do you not see in this thread how people are appreciating this move.

If these peopl can attack naval areas, ghq etc, school is nothing. We need to attack, not defend.

@nair negative one pls?

Bullshit arguements are given against this issue. They are just being trained how to use it for self defence. It is not a bad thing. may be it is not the most effective way but still it is gud step. @Jazzbot stop arguing with idiots

Oh so we gonna find every small place to justify the actions?

Americas problem is manymentally ill people, who are not predictable. Not to mention, only few states allow such a thing, very few. Whereas pakistan has terrorists. It's easy to tell who is a terrorist than a mentally ill person. Another problem is, what if kid steals gun from teacher or the teacher go mental.

Nonetheless, even in Dakota or very few other states that allow guns, it doesn't mean I support this. It's easier to hire a police officer for day time who comes occasionly, which is what my school did. He managed criminal activity on school as well as protect it. Problem is, these officers cost 60k a year minimum, or Pakistani 60,00,000 rupees.

Which is what pakistan can do as well, since it is very cheap. Probably costs 1 or 2 lake a year to hire a guard.

If Punjab, Baluch or sindh did it, it's also be their failure to protect.

What's next, after PIA hijackings, air hostesses and pilots will walk around with ak47 on shoulders? Or pistols? Or airports' janitors will have guns? Bus driver and money collector will have gun.

Let's not forget that the American teachers will face strict security clearance before being allowed to enter school full of children and with guns. They'll also need to place gun in secure place. They'll also be careful with it, risking losing their job or end up in jail.

Can the same be said about Pakistan? Will terrorists not try to infaltrate a school with teacher, or school teachers being careless or getting guns without proper clearance?

You're going round and round in circles without giving a minute to what I am writing. Tell me, if a police officer is hired for the day time to protect a school as you have proposed. What will that one police officer do in case of an attack? Wouldn't he be a sitting duck? Most probably, he'll be the first one to run away as soon as the attack will happen. And then, you and others like you will have an opportunity to bash every bit of sh!t out of KP govt for whole month.

I didn't posed that video as a justification of this decision, I posted it as a reference. Now you can go ahead and brag about it as long as you want. I've presented my point of view and I do not expect you to agree with whatever I believe or say.

Will "go down fighting" if the Taliban attack our schools

Snipers on the roof, well trained teachers with armed guns. A govt school usually has 20 - 30 teachers. And in KPK, most of them are well familiar with weapons. They can easily hold the attackers for enough time to allow security teams to reach and neutralize the attack.

These teacher's aim is not to protect the schools, their prime focus is to not become soft target and buy enough time for security forces in case of an attack.

The following system is already in place by KP govt recently, more steps are being taken to reduce response time in case a school will ever come under an attack again. Just an example: Peshawar: KP Police Launches “One-Click” SOS Alert Service for Educational Institutions.

And teachers won't run away? Teachers won't be sitting duck?

These men can come with bullet proof vests and blasts. Giving guns to citizens is not enough.

At the end of the day, you agree to it, I dont. I live in Canada and I've big problem with us over their gun control issue, so I'm not hating on PTI just Cuz it's PTI, but rather over their policy

An unarmed female teacher in APS didn't let TTP dogs touch her students, they had to kill her first. Ofcourse the teachers might run away, or may become sitting duck. But they might become a headache as an element of surprise for the attacker, who had a walk in the park while attacking APS.

Let me quote one line for you from the article I've shared above:

"A number of teachers were killed in the Army School attack. I want to make sure that if that ever happens here, we go down fighting," says a teacher of a govt schools who now carries his gun with him.

Again, this isn't an ideal step. Other steps are being taken by both KP govt and security forces to ensure the safety of the schools in future.

Anyways, I'm done arguing with you.

I have just one advice for the teachers, especially for the female teachers. Change your profession. In any country where the female teachers have to carry guns in schools to defend themselves against terrorist attacks, the future of that country is definitely doomed. Just carrying guns will make them the first target of terrorists. I wonder who are those parents who are sending their children to schools where teachers are carrying weapons. If the government cannot provide security then close down the schools.

But then they'll reference a random place on earth and say "but they carry guns! Can't we?"

You know when there is bank robbery or whatever, the people almost always beat up or kill the security guy or whoever has the gun, because they rather see the person eliminated and avoid the "headache."

Imagine if a teacher in school waves a gun in front of kids to scare them or even if I was a student and see teacher with a gun, I'll be in constant fear. Already was beaten by teachers and one mental teacher (in APS school, same that was attacked) hit the head of student towards wall so hard, it was loud bang and the student cried real hard. Then the teacher blamed another student for it (he felt sorry) and tried to hit him. I ain't no going to a school where teachers can abuse students and even kill.

Teachers were not allowed to hit in APS, so they'll go to the window and see is principal is around, if not hen come and beat the kid.

KPK school is cruel and giving teachers a gun instead of stick is even more worrisome.

@WishLivePak This whole situation is quite scary for me, but hey this is Pakistan where the most absurd things look quite normal to its "downtrodden" and kleptocratic oligarchy.

What happens @Jazzbot if Bhabhi gets this Training and then you will be all BOT No JAZZ.:omghaha:

I am not in favor of kids and guns in a same room. I remember in my good old days the most teacher could do was to make me Murgha(Chicken) if i misbehaved
murghay.jpg
which i

Now imagine same teacher armed with a Gun.

Exaggeration.
There are millions of schools in Pakistan and billions in the world.

How many have armed teachers teachings a class?

Are we to accept that pakistan is a failed nation? Or KPK is a failed province?

When state or province cannot provide security to its citizens, does it any longer have authority to govern it? Security is the main goal of the gov't, it comes before health and education. This is why many countries have greater defense budget than for health or education, unless I'm wrong.

To be honest, the school shooting in Peshawa is not the same school shooting in any of the State in the US. Even if teacher were issued and trained with sidearm with practical proficiency, how are they gonna stop like 15 Taliban with AK-47??

It would probably more practical to have army posted in School rather than having those teacher training in side arms, or you may want them too be proficiency with M4, G3, Body Armour and Explosive........That would be the same as posting soldier...

ohh so now teachers will be have close combat battle with terrorists ? and teachers will use these scrappy 9mm guns while terrorists AK-47? what a sad state . a nation seen education and polio as enemy :(

I think its a great idea.

@Pakistanis

Is it common for kids to get guns to school, like what happens in the US?

Teachers r being provided with weapons training not for stopping Talibs but for self defence.Giving weapons to selected teachers would be better than just watching children die in schools.
