Female teachers being given weapons training in Peshawar

The worst possible solution you guys could ever chose. Using a gun should come from within. Taking a man's life even in defence of your own doesn't come naturally to a whole lot of humans.

And when they hold the gun, the terrorists will feel more rush in killing them since they can claim a combat victory.

So how much ammo will the teachers be carrying? A pistol has limited ammo, and Ak47.
Teachers going to wear bullet proof vests?

How will they deal with explosive attacks? Or smoke attacks?

List goes on. Pathetic attempt for false sense of security.
Just a bullet they can put on the heads of terrorists, its all what thats needed?

In 2012 in the post-Virginia Tech era, a Colorado supreme court ruling allowed students and faculty to carry concealed guns on campus by overturning the gun ban at Colorado University.

The proponents of "armed teachers" are ignoring a very important point. Unlike some american school teachers and students who have to confront a single student armed with some pistols or semi automatic weapons and few rounds, the teachers in KPK will be fighting against these monsters (pic below) who are ideologically motivated, drugged, armed to teeth, well-trained, and there biggest weapon is suicide vest. The government has to hire some professional guards who must be able to provide some good resistance until the arrival of special forces. Teachers, especially the female teachers, will be just like sitting ducks in that situation.

Again, the same BS arguments being repeated over and over again.

Everyone, for God's sake, get this through your skulls:

NO ONE EXPECTS THE TEACHERS TO ACTUALLY FIGHT.
THEY ARE NOT A LINE OF DEFENSE.
THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO GET TRAINING OR USE WEAPONS
THEY ARE NOT AN ALTERNATIVE TO POLICE AND OTHER SECURITY FORCES

"We are not ordering teachers to carry arms," Atif Khan, provincial education minister, told the BBC. "What we have discussed is that the government would allow licensed guns if teachers and parents asked for it."
BBC News - Peshawar massacre: Pakistan replies with 'weaponised' teaching

Read through the articles again. They wanted to carry weapons and they were permitted to carry weapons. Because of that, the government had to make sure they were trained to use those weapons. What's the problem there? How is it a failure for the KPK government?

If they feel confident or safe with weapons and want to try to protect themselves in case all the other measures fail, they should be and are being allowed to do so. Period. They want to do it. They want to be able to fight for their lives.

Even if they won't be able to defeat the terrorists, they'll be able to try and put up some resistance instead of just getting slaughtered. That's their point. No one is expecting them to single-handedly stop an attack (or even try at all). Even the teachers themselves don't expect it, they're saying they want to ''go down fighting''. Go down.

Otherwise, the schools have armed guards, police officers, walls and barbed wire as actual lines of defense.

You need to calm down and let other people present their POV. There are more than one news out there on different events and the news are not rarely conflicting. Whatever the reasons are, nobody should be allowed to carry loaded guns in schools - not even teachers.

The theory is that if attackers target a school, they will face an armed response rather than classrooms full of defenceless staff and children.

bloody animals, making fun of a tragedy bigger than karbala?
perhaps they are afriad that their friends will have to face resistance :(

You can present your POV all you like and I can present my POV that disagrees with yours.

The news isn't conflicting, it is reporting the opinion and theory of the people involved. Many of the teachers do want to put up an armed response, while others don't.

Either way, if they want to, they should be allowed to provided that they have completed the correct documentation, legal requirements and training

Its not new many parts in the world, which are effected with any type of terrorist attack peoples been trained & given thier choice of weapons?
after all we are talking about KPK, the deadliest of the parts of the world, where terrorists dont ask permission s to attack any thing they want?
Israel is one of examples!

But but.... PTI is doing it! Whatever they're doingg must be right and good for people, right?

He didn't say you can't offer your POV, he said you need to chill the hell out.

Seriously? That's your argument?

What exactly is the problem here, in my response to his comment?

Allowing the teachers to carry weapons is debatable. Training them to use the weapons they are now allowed to carry is definitely good. PTI and your petty politics don't matter.

So urdu speaking girls dont have ghane baal or nice zulfain?

Karachites or Karachiwale is a better term :coffee:

Overreaction. Life and death are in the Allah's hands, you would get high training for defence against taliban (who by the way are mostly targeting security forces and now their families) but you might die from road accident or some unfortunate incident. You dont fear death, you fear what comes after death.

Matter of perspective. These guns may just come in handy, you never know. Better to be safe than sorry.

bloody animals, making fun of a tragedy bigger than karbala?

I feel you should leave such matters out of this.
