What's new

Japanese visiting beautiful Turkey!

What i like about Japanese tourists, is that they keep a polite, calm and clean attitude no matter what and generally seem to have a more genuine interest than westerners in learning the culture of the country they are visiting. Confronting a bad mannered Japanese tourist is probably more rare than hitting the jackpot :)

@Nihonjin1051

Even police officers agree with me :D

What is the Japanese parts about anyway ? I hope she doesn't says something bad about Turkey :D

Japanese tourists traveling abroad are really precarious in not insulting anyone. And you can tell or single them out because they will say this phrase repetitively if they think they offended you, "Hontou ni, gomenasai, hontou ni, gomenasai..." (i'm really really sorry)

If only all people had that admirable mindset, life would have been much better.
By the way, are you planning on staying permanently in the US? who knows you might experience a reverse culture shock upon returning to Japan ;)

I'm here for student visa (H1B), so i don't really know. After i'm done my coursework, i'm open to working abroad (stay here in US, or Europe). I don't want to go to Japan yet !

What ever you do. Make sure you evacuate Western EU or USA within 9 years. its getting...... more and more problematic there.

She's a Japanese teacher of english language ! She's basically showing around her visit around Turkey . As for the police, she's saying that they were asking her about Japanese language. PS, her name is Chika. :)

You think so? Do you feel that its becoming problematic there in Holland, too?

Its hard to tell.

But from my personal observation and experience in Amsterdam with bias I can say the following.

the quality of public services are going down in general, and the previous generation culture isn't in the new generation. Also corruption is high and keep getting higher, each day it feels like people are getting screwed over more and more.
The amount of people who have lost their will to live and are addicted to drugs and alcohol rises.

There is still quite an amount of Dutch people with family values. But what I see is more career based individuals who think isolated and only about their immediate surrounding than as a community. Some time ago in the European parlement they were saying about Belgium the only thing what brings the people together is Football and Beer, well the Netherlands its Football, Beer, King and some old religious festivals which they only participate for fun.

When Turkey beats Germany in production than Europe will have big issues. because European union is based as Germany as engine. when that is gone and are unable to balance their weak nations, you will see big civil unrests.

A very unusual name for a Japanese. :)

Also we Turks are generally not like in Europe, so it might be because of that, that I have a Bias, but here is a list from Fritz Neumark about Europeans against the turks. And I share those points with him

Fritz Neumark points of why Europeans hate Turks

When ask with the question of one of his students, "Why dont the europeans love us, professor"

his response

To be honest, Europeans Don't love the turks and it isint possible for them to love you.
For centuries the churchs hate against the turks and muslims has influenced them in their genetic level
for the following reasons

1- Because you are muslims, but even if you were to change into Christians that hate wouldn't go away

2- Maybe you aren't aware of this fact, but when you remove the Turks from history there wouldn't be any history left
when the full archive of the ottomans can be accessed the entire history which we have now would be rewritten

3- In the past you were Europe's market, now Europe is getting to be your market

4- For atleast 400 years you were able to roam freely trough europe with your horses

5- The Selcuk State made Anadolu and the Ottomans made central europe and balkans the graveyard
of the Crusaders

6- They couldn't beat you with guns, so now they have managed to controll you by making you be like them,
They started to damage your moral values(Which is based on islamic values), after that they will try to let you fight among yourselfs(well that happend alot)

7- The Selcuk state and especially the ottomans, if they didn't sacrifice everything, Islam would only be present in Saudi Arabia.
And comming to Wahabism, the starters of that movement were the men of the British Colonial Secretary, while the west
is perversing Islam everywhere, the ottomans preserved it.

8- Because of the reasons I stated above the Church hates you

9 - When I came to Turkey(1933), you only had 2 universities, now this number is arround 19(1940-50s).
During the ottoman state Every Religious Educational Facility had a faculty of science and you are the first ones
to invent the submarine while most of you aren't aware of it. (Looked this one up to be sure year 1719 name Tahtelbahir)

10- The moment you are back to your genuine Identity. Europe's wellfare and culture will collapse. But in your current state
that would be hard to achieve(1940-50s)

Well, Turkey beating Germany in production is a little bit far fetched tbh.

According to my experience, Japanese are not only like that when they are abroad, but also in Japan when dealing with foreigners. It felt to me, as a foreigner, as if Japanese are really calculating people who even take the slightest unimportant inconvenience as their responsibility and mistake while in many cases it was beyond their and my control to begin with. Plus i never felt this 'this is Japan, deal with our customs whether you like it or not' behavior. Might have been exceptions of really kind Japanese, but this has become a part of my impression of Japanese in Japan. だから将来に観光して友達たちと遊ぶためにもう一度綺麗な日本に行って見たいです。次の時、居酒屋に会いましょうかww

That's a very insightful analysis, Nefer. It is sad to hear and see that liberalism in Europe has eroded their traditional cultural values. I think the United States is still somewhat insulated. From my experience here (well in NJ that is) people here are still somewhat traditional. Perhaps its different in other parts of the country, who knows.

Would you say the same thing is happening in Turkey?

Very profound ! I had never known of this deep seated mistrust of the Turks. Do all Europeans really feel this way? It is just unfair...
