JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Oh well, and still this tweet from late 2020 proclaimed by a Russian site is taken for granted as if already 400 are for Pakistan?? Come on, this is a typical Russian announcement that sets high hopes including a full PAF purchase and several more new foreign export customers.

I won't hold my breath for 400 Block 3 JF-17s for Pakistan.
We don’t need Block 3 anymore given the arrival of J-10C and J-15.

Times change and minds update.

You will know when the time comes

Honestly, we are discussing J-15 since almost 2 years and I haven't heard any single reasonable argument that would make sense! I really don't know why some are so much obsessed by this theory ...

But yes, I'll wait and but another bottle of Champagne into the refrigerator in case you are correct.
Is it hiding with the 9000 C-130s and 72000 F-16Vs?

and well behind the three 055 DDGs, the Liaoning and the Squadron of J-20s! :woot:

According to Alan Warnes after speaking with the Air Chief, the 3000 number on Block-3 represents a large number of sales to other nations.

I doubt the 3000 number with passion. Let's divide the world for a second into tiers: Tier 1: Countries who can develop jets better or similar to the JFT. Tier 2: The Middle East (predominantly American hardware), TurKey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Serbia and Tier III: Africa, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Iraq, Iran, Afghan, etc. So far, with the Chinese + Pakistani influence only less than 20 jets have been sold I believe. Outside of Egypt, the Middle East looks hard to sell to, due to access to money and better systems. That leaves Pakistan with Tier III countries only and even that's with limits. Add Russia as a serious competition too with "Check Mate", etc.

I suspect a total of 250-400 JFT's block III and IIII's will be sold over the next TEN years and that's it.

Just wait for a "small" skirmish with our neighbour, they loosing a Rafale, a Su 30MKI and a Mirage 2k, PAF/Chinese will be selling JF-17s as hot cakes.

You misunderstood. The 3000 number on the Block-3 doesn't mean 3,000 JF-17 Thunders will be produced.
