loll where pakistan's railways have decreased 35 % since 47 india is adding more than 5000 every year. pakistan has 70 locomotives indian manufacturers 700 every year.

all pakistani public sector companies are in huge losses.

all indian public sector companies have a combined cash pile of over 300 billion more than even pakistani economy.

lol pakistan needs some hindu baniyas in their govt if they want to have successfull companies. that is the only solution.

The problem is that Pakistan had US as an ally since their formation .. So their leaders never invested in manufacturing instead they were busy in many social schemes for irradicating poverty

While on the other hand Indian government invested in manufacturing / service sector to irradicate poverty indirectly ..
Indian scheme was slow in removing poverty but worked best in long term

Plus Pakistan faced many wars in a short span and lost it's part .. So , government invested in nuclear weapons .. Pakistan government had no other choice but to invest more in army .. Or else Pakistani position in war with India would have been weak ..

Now as Pakistan has nuclear weapons which act as a best deterrant .. Government of Pakistan should start investing heavily in manufacturing / services without thinking of a war ..
India would be just foolish to have a war with nuclear state now ..

Pakistan Railway has reached the position of no return. Its rail network is reducing by every passing years. There is no rail engines and government has no money to bailout Pakistan Railways. 444 out of 520 rail engines are not functioning and all freight services has been closed down.

I even heard that Transport Mafia in Pakistan don't want Pakistan Railways to work properly.

Yea right , PAK invested wrongly with wrong allies, They bought Chinese engines only to please chinese partners for which paK call them friends/ brother etc, but what the brother gave them a heavier engine which can't run on PAK tracks and moreover they said NO to PAK , sold goods can't be taken back.

The Pak Asked India to provide Engines on rent to them, but India said , we have capacity of around 500 engines /year but requirement is around 700 engines /year because we supply to other countries so we don't have spare production capacity for PAK.

India also asked if we give you old discarded engine in after making fir for running then we required diplomatic / security of our engineers without which we are not interested. Now its unto PAK to accept the proposal or reject it.

India can help but it requires PAK to improve ties, but in present condition it not possible.

The only solution of the Railways, PIA and Power plants is that they should at any cost be privatize so that the locals could have their chance to do something better with them. I am sure that Private sector can handle it effectively and efficiently.

since 1947 we have been operating our Railways. but till now we have not bee able to build a locomotive. on this forum we proudly speak about fighter aircrafts built in Pakistan , however we have not been able to build a television leave alone a locomotive. Even if we look at europe we will find small countries have build their own products and are on the path of self reliance. Where are we ??
Technology sector is in dying state even in 80's we were doing better than today. IT sector is growing but have not been able to pull world's attention towards us. Pakisatni Railways right now need's money. whatever we have we are spending on buying jets , missiles and other stuff. as a normal citizen of pakistan , what do we need fighter jets or locomotive. only 90 locomotive engines in such a big country is a shame. we compare ourselves to china and india. look where they are right now. we as pakistanis have failed to deliver in public areas. our mother and sisters have to travel in pathetic trains just because we don't have money. If we keep spending most part of our money in defence purchases, very soon we will not even have a single passenger train in Pakistan. we can build fighter's and nukes but not locomotives , cars , computers and even a single micro chip.

can any of us even explain to me that having a technology to build an aircraft ,yet we do not produce own locomotives??
