In an idealistic world you are right but in this one......might is right. Any country that depends on one of the global blocs or the UN to defend from aggression is foolish. Pakistan has learned these lessons the hard way and has both the conventional and unconventional force needed to deter a larger, aggressive neighbor from any escalation. The whole world saw this in 2019. Zelensky is naïve and has ruined the Ukraine......there is no doubt about this.

Russia wants to assimilate Ukraine, NATO is just an excuse. Russia has nothing to offer Ukraine except another century of subjugation, war (Soviet-Ukrainian war 1917) and genocide (Holodomor).

Suggesting that Russia will be pacified by a Ukrainian commitment not to join NATO. Or, that the people of Ukraine are fighting and dying for Zelensky is simply not true.
The people of Ukraine do not want another century of servitude to Russia. As a former colony of Britain I would've have thought the people of Pakistan will sympathies with Ukraine.

Unfortunately the man is correct, the only losers are the Ukrainian civilians who are going to suffer a humanitarian disaster the likes of Syria. Surprised by the Russian softly softly approach which was a huge and costly mistake as it backfired, it gave the Ukrainian resistance time to gain momentum and a wrong impressions of he Russians. As the Russian losses mount they will be more brutal and the Ukrainians will suffer more. Zelenskyy is beginning to sound more and more frustrated and must be beginning to see that the demolition of Ukrainian military is with tacit approval of NATO. Zelenskyy is expecting some sort of cavalry to come to the rescue and it is not going to happen.

Russian invasion of Ukraine was inevitable. Ukraine decided to defend itself. Would Pakistan or any other nation not respond as Ukraine did? If India threatens Pakistan on a similar pretext 'say NO to CPEC' or else would you persist with the same reasoning?

You claim Zelensky's 'NO' to joining NATO would have assuaged Russian concerns. How can Russia even take away the right of a sovereign nation to act in its own interest? When Russia asked to join NATO should China have invaded Russia?

NATO, the US and EU's position with regard to the defence of Ukraine has been clear and consistent for many months - a clear 'NO' to military intervention.

Russia has the greatest nuclear arsenal on planet earth, how does Ukraine joining the EU or NATO diminish Russian nuclear deterrent.

It was delusional thinking by Zelenskyy and his poodles that lead to the disaster of an invasion and look at the consequence. It is a pure miscalculation and stupidity over that lead to an emotional stance that has had dire consequences for the Ukrainian people. Millions of refugees, military decimated, humiliation of being occupied and false hopes given to the Ukrainian people.

Ukrainians should lynch this fool Zellenskyy who despite all the evidence and intelligence refused to acknowledge that Ukraine was being invaded. It would be interesting to know who is true masters are.
