Zardari to Patterson: ‘Indian involvement in Mumbai attacks’

I am looking at this in a different context - not so much about whether it is true or not, but about what it signifies.

Zardari is obviously basing this view off of inputs by security agencies/advisers. I doubt he came to this conclusion himself.

IMO that would suggest that the Pakistani security establishment believes that India (hard liners in India) was somehow involved, which in turn would suggest that the Pakistani security agencies were not involved. It does not mean that their analysis about Indian involvement is necessarily correct.

IMO it suggests no such thing. It ony suggests that the security agencies told Zardari that they think India is involved. Thats all it means. I see no reason for them to tell zardari that they were involved (if they were or some rogue elements) without Zardari's knowledge.

The survey over opinions about 9/11 does show that people across the world tend to believe in conspiracy theories. Focusing on any one set of people alone will end up turning into a flame war.

OK. I am not sure what words i should use to say that many Pakistanis are very fond of conspiracy theories.

Especially when it comes to India but also USA, Israel, Britain and so on.

This thread is an example of that. Any right thinking person would at least demand a semblance of proof and some plausibility when making accusations such as these of a country killing its own people and causing a huge setback to itself.

To gain what?

They can just try the Occam's razor for a change.

You are spot on.. that's exact point i was making in my earlier post!!

ok.. i appreciate your pov. afterall no agency would admit their guilt! it's normal tendancy to pass the guilt on to someone you despise the most. don't get me wrong.. it's not just unique to one country!!

Again, how about not simply referring to Pakistanis when talking about belief in conspiracy theories:

I didn't just say 9/11. This is mainly about 26/11 but also about all the other issues starting from the partition itself.

Zardari like other politicians were provided wrong info by ISI/PA. They knew his intelligence level and they were not wrong. Also proves leaders are representative of population.

Vinod part of the reason I feel Pakistani's are into to conspiracy therories have to do with what government and military feed them. Example drone attacks, they are telling people that they do not sanction drone attacks, which leads to conspiracy theories.

Mr.zardari should stop watching brasstracks................

Lol , what conformation he is talking about.......the same that ajmal kasab is a sikh and his name is amar singh.....

Ok thats was hilarious......

So why are some Indians pointing fingers at Pakistani public for believing such things, when in fact Indians themselves believe in conspiracy theories such as ISI being involved in this attack or many other conspiracy theories about ISI? Hypocrite much?

The appropriate analogy would be: PA is behind all those suicide attacks that killed thousands and the blowing of mosques of minority sects. That the attack on the GHQ at Rawalpindi was also staged.

No they're not. There's no evidence for them provided in international arena either. Those who make those theories in international arena are making conspiracy theories as well.

That's not an appropriate analogy, because a state may carry out one or two attacks on its soil to blame someone else, but not hundreds of such attacks. One or two attacks do the job and at the same time do not destabilize a country. Look up to Operation Northwoods to see what I mean.

Yo yo yo ........cool down mate..........

When one is in the conspiracy theory mode, one knows not where to stop.
