Here's what I think is happening in Pakistan.

In the past the army used to control the top criminals like Nawaz Sharif and Zardari. Now they've become so rich and powerful, each being worth US $20-30 billion, that since the time of Bajwa, Sharif and Zardari have taken over the army.

Now Bajwa and Asim Munir are reporting to Sharif and Zardari and getting instructions from them. It is open information that Asim Munir did a deal with Nawaz Sharif to be made COAS. Maryam is ordering Whiskey around.

There's been a reverse takeover. Now the generals have become so criminalized that protecting their own wealth and that of their criminal masters is driving Pakistan's policy, not the interests of the state.

We were told that USA and Donald Leu were behind the regime change. Instead it turns out that America was forced to approve it through Bajwa's lobbying. Bajwa met Hussain Haqqani in Dubai and gave him money ($150,000+) to lobby for regime change.

The Pakistan military has gone totally rogue. They're making policies against the interests of Pakistan and against any established policies of USA, China, or any other country. They're making policies based on the personal interests of the generals and Sharif and Zardari criminal enterprises. The whole world has become fed up with them, including the people of Pakistan.

The wealth amassed by Sharif and Zardari is so vast that they can buy up anyone, including all the generals. Without getting rid of them Pakistan can't progress.

What is needed is a major purge of the generals and Sharif and Zardari empires. Confiscation of Sharif and Zardari properties will give Pakistan US $30-40 billion to fix the country.

I don't think he is in favor with the current USG at the moment, so this statement can more be due to PTI lobbying efforts or personal connections rather than an indirect message from the USG.

BUT, I was reading the news a couple of days ago that Gen Kurilla did mention Pakistan's political and economic challenges, although they were in a different context in response to a question of a senator.

I think, and I could be wrong, ppl like khalizad are evergreen beaurocrats of USG. Biden did not remove him when he became potus till after pull out.
No reason khalilzad made a long tweet. He won't antagonize ghq for nothing.
Let's see criminal military Inc behaves in next few days or not. Kind of white boot licker (allegorically, he is afg) they are, they will pause even if it is khalilzad personal view.

And as of yet, Zalmay Khalilzad has not yet filed himself under FARA, and if he is indeed lobbying and in a monetary arrangement or otherwise with PTI, it is illegal and he can lose all his privileges and accesses to USG.

So, either Khalilzad is not lobbying and this tweet is about what he sees personally, or the USG itself is sending a message through Khalilzad, or he is indeed involved with PTI in lobbying and playing the most dangerous game of Russian roulette which can have disastrous consequences for him.

Is he giving message from USG? I think he is. If I am wrong, I am wrong.
But I don't see why otherwise khalilzad will suddenly take interest in pak in last 1-3 weeks.

So, this man who has spent his lifetime studying that region and has interest in that region, can't express an opinion on his own? Every man and his dog can write an OpEd piece but not him. Back in the day when the same page manjan was headstrong, the "absolutely not" was repeated endlessly as a strong indication of the determined stance of IK in standing firm against the evil US demands, while I was the only one saying it was nothing but an ill-thought answer blurted out to a hypothetical question by a journalist during an interview. I hope you will be able to recall that. (Later, the same "absolutely not" was said to be the reason IK was booted out by USA, both of which are equally false premises, of course, but that is another story.)

If there is any trauma caused by the "absolutely not", it is definitely not with me, but with those who have whiplash by such rapid changes of explanations.

Saheeh hey, lekin meri aqal to yeh dekh rahee hey keh the real lobbying is done discreetly in golf courses and country clubs and restaurants informally, over friendly games and drinks and meals, far before it gets to the point of requiring formal registrations. And I can tell you that IK's financiers here are backpedaling and whitewashing all his sins of omission and commission furiously. (And I can tell you they are not having much success.)
