The Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal has warned the Pakistani military of consequences if the construction work of the gate has not been halted.

In an online statement posted on his Facebook page, Zakhilwal said the construction work of the gate has not been stopped by the Pakistani forces despite an agreement was reached to halt the work and resolve the issue through diplomatic negotiations.

Zakhilwal further added that an agreement was reached with Pakistani military delegation to ceasefire, high level talks on the issue, resolve the issue through discussions by high level delegation, and prevent construction work until he issue has been resolved.

According to Zakhilwal, a letter has been sent to the Pakistani military leadership regarding the issue and they have been warned that Pakistan would be responsible for any consequences.

Zakhilwal said he would be forced to release the details of the conflict and there would be no reason left for him to continue to his diplomatic mission in Pakistan.

Clashes among the Afghan and Pakistani forces started late on Sunday night after the Afghan border guards stopped Pakistani forces to start work on a gate along the zero point in Durand Line.

The two sides suffered casualties as a result of the clashes which continued for three days until an agreement was reached for a ceasefire on Wednesday.

The Afghan government condemned the unilateral move by Pakistan to establish a gate in the zero point of Durand Line, calling it a move against the bilateral agreement as the two sides should agree before starting work on any establishment.

Any Afghan members' opinions on the ambassador's position.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Omar Zakhilwal has started leveling baseless accusations against Pakistan after recent clashes at the Torkham crossing point between both countries, reported on Thursday.

According to Afghan media, the ambassador has alleged Pakistan of violating agreement by constructing gate at Torkhan border.

He said that it was decided earlier between both countries that the matter would be resolved by higher officials through negotiations but Pakistan Army went ahead to construct it without taking Afghanistan into loop.

He also warned of severe consequences if Pakistan will not stop gate’s construction.

Moreover, Omar Zakhilwal has also threatened to expose all the secrets pertaining to Torkham border.

Currently, the Pakistan Army is continuing with the construction of a gate at Torkham border while Afghanistan government has assured of not interfering after four days of unprovoked firing.

An army major named Ali Jawad Changezi lost his life in hospital after he was shifted there for treatment of injuries that he sustained in Afghan shelling. Sources stated that the martyr was inspecting artillery positioned at the border when he was injured.

Two security personnel were injured on Wednesday taking the tally to over 15.

The neighbouring country resorted to coercive methods during construction of a gate at Torkham border which is aimed at keeping a check on cross-border movement in light of different terror attacks across the country by terrorists that entered Pakistan through the route.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the gate at the Torkham border was being constructed at least 37 metres within the country’s territory.

ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa stated that the gate was required to check documentation and interrogate the ones crossing the border, if necessary.

In the recent past, evidence collected at different targeted sites in Peshawar and other cities suggested terrorists’ movement into Pakistan from Afghanistan.

U Moron creature called ZAKHILWAL.......KEEP UR MOUTH SHUT....YOUR FACE IS PRETTY HORRIBLE, AT LEAST, TALK SOMETHING GOOD.

Pakistanis.....out of 235, only 2 crossings are done. We have to done remaining. Carry on for Pakistan. Don't care of Ramadan, Afghans, refugees, relations, brotherhood. Just remember Major Jawad bhai and other injured and continue to your job.

THIS MORON AFGHAN AMBASSADOR SHOULD BE THROWN OUT. JUST DO IT.

Pakistan thoroughly reserves the right to erect gates etc. without the approval of Afghanistan. This work is being done on our side of the border and we don't require Afghan consent. The Afghans are unreasonable by demanding that Pakistan should first have an agreement with Afghanistan to carry out work on its side of the border. Keep up the good work Pak army.

there would be no reason left for him to continue to his diplomatic mission in Pakistan.

Requesting any expert to shed some light on this statement !!

Is this gentleman threatening to leave Pakistan OR Is he suggesting the closure of Diplomatic Mission of Afghanistan in Pakistan ?

Can someone please explain to those not exactly following this exact issue closely, what the heck is the exact Afghan Objection? Pakistan is not building a gate on Afghan land.

Please tell me the stated objection they have, not the underlying justification that it will make it harder for them to send TTP terrorist into Pakistan, but the official reason.

The reasons are well-known to anyone. The Afghans don't recognize the Durand Line. The Afghans are under the illusion that a large chunk of Pakistani land somehow belongs to them. They are living in the dinosaur age. You can guess that Pakistan won't give a dime about Afghan concerns. The Durand Line is an official border and the Afghans better start accepting it. You are correct. Pakistan will continue to build gates on its side of the border.
