France is very friendly to China, despite arms ambargo by the West lead by US, French somehow was able to supplied and licenced various naval and air military equipment including naval guns, missiles, helicopters, engines etc during the past three decades.

They are also on joint production of at least 2 types of helicopters (HC-120/EC-120 and Z15/EC-175).
