Nice work....modified Z9 into full range attack helo..a good idea for Pakistan army too. Very cheap to modify into effective weapon in mountain war and insurgency.

I think that's the cheapest platform Pakistan can get without any embargo. Its light and lot of room to modify according to need. But if it has started full production ...it seems chinese has remove the front end of helicopter and assemble Cobra canopy and seating.

Although my wish was that PAC would have also done JV on helicopter programs as well with China from the three types that is needed by our armed forces to the attack one that our army require like Apache one. So in this way we will be able to support our own people by buying hardware for our military and will also gained good knowledge also.

Why is it that after every post about chinese weapon, some pakistani pops the question. "Are we gonna buy that?" "Is pakistan getting that anytime?" Come on people!

I just can't seem to understand why Pakistan is still sticking to Cobras and more Cobras? Are we addicted to being embargoed by the US? Do our armed forces enjoy it when America cut off spare parts and vital supplies for our US made weapons that they keep purchasing F-16's, old Frigates, and Cobras??

Chinese are coming up with really neat weapons that are affordable compared to their American counterparts yet the thick heads in power keep purchasing weapon systems that are useless.

It makes sense to go for this helicopter, very soon USA is going to put sanctions on Pakistan. After the next USA election, Pakistan will be in trouble. Better get as many military hardware as possible.

Kenya Ar Force operates between 48-56 (W)Z-9 armed gunship helicopters. PA has budgetary constraint for now what we have we will operate so far no Future plans expect for upgrades that too requires budget!.

It is a very effective (gunship variant), not just for plains and mountainous terrain to target terrorists but for urban ground support.

Really designing and developing Helicopters(Counter Rotating ones like Russian) with Chinese is the best Idea even to date from Gunship like Apaches, Small ones like AS550 Class, medium ones like Bell-412/Lynx Class, Heavy Mi-17V7/EH-101 Class that are required by our army, navy as well as by our Air Force. I am not so sure but the requirements might be like that, if we are producing them cheap.

Pak army already operating almost 300 different variety of helicopters , don't know the cannibalizing of other helos. Plus another about 11 (not sure the number) ALs are donated by Swiss to Pak army for flood victims two years ago. No idea if they are in service.
