Your Thoughts on the Pakistani Delegation's Washington Visit

They have just gone there to sign shadow or under table deals & collect their salaries, which are only to hurt Pakistan.

TURNING THE LIGHTS ON: INCREASING ENERGY PRODUCTION

Out of the 800 megawatts that U.S.-funded projects have brought for Pakistani businesses and families, approximately 700 megawatts were added through renovation of the Tarbela Dam in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Jamshoro Thermal Power Plant in Sindh, and the Muzaffargharh Thermal Power Plant in Punjab as well as construction of the Satpara Dam in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Satpara Dam that the United States is helping to complete is already producing 13.8 megawatts of power. Once fully operational, the dam will generate 17.6 megawatts, mitigate flooding, store water for irrigation, and provide 3.1 million gallons of water per day for homes throughout the Skardu Valley.

At the Muzaffargharh Thermal Power Plant, the U.S.-financed rehabilitation has restored 480 megawatts in production capacity that had been lost over the years due to the aging of the equipment. USAID has helped to repair and replace worn-out equipment, modernize technologies, and conduct maintenance to minimize break downs and restore lost productivity. With U.S. funding, Pakistan has also restored 150 megawatts in production capacity at Jamshoro and 128 megawatts at Tarbela.

The United States and Pakistan are also cooperating on the completion of the Gomal Zam Dam in South Waziristan and renovation of the Guddu Thermal Power Plant in Sindh. Gomal Zam will add 17.4 megawatts in power production, while Guddu – 75 megawatts.

karzai hasnt signed the bilateral accord; i think theyre giving up on him too

its a waste of public tax money by visiting USA , there is no need for that , they do not listen to Pakistan and CIA , pentagon is not under Civil administration anyway so whats the point ?

Americans behavior in last 10-15 years was mirrored by the behavior of Pakistani educated elite during the last 10-15 years.

They too can ask very same question that you asked.

It takes two to tango.

So no need to get into petty bickering

The two countries have a many many chances that they must work on for the better future of the two great countries

Below are some of the themes that were discussed;

Building a Foundation for Inclusive Economic Growth
Alleviating Pakistan’s Energy Crisis
Deepening Cooperation on Shared Security Challenges
Advancing Regional Peace and Stability
Strengthening educational linkages and people to people contacts

In your opinion, out of the categories that were discussed, in which area should the U.S. and Pakistan increase cooperation? Which of these categories is most important to you? Do you believe these strategic dialogues will enhance U.S.-PAK relations and help improve our cooperation?

Building a foundation for economic growth, alleviating Pakistan's energy crisis importantly If US can let go its opposition to the IP Gas pipe line project. It has already done so with giving India exception of dealing with Iran, same can be done to Pakistan as well. Last but not the least Deepening cooperation on security challenges not only shared but also which are of great consequence to the security of Pakistan as Pakistan has suffered the brunt of too many proxies.
And we thank the US for its continued assistance to Pakistan in many fields including the energy crisis.

IP gas line if ever could be constructed is a "SANCTION BUSTER".
and not being opposed because of us the Pakistanis.

It is being opposed by the whole world because IRAN is under sanctions.

Pakistani educated elite should not even bring this topic up as long as Iran is under sanctions.

Hope you understand it now .

Focus here should be on the bad behavior of Iran

and NOT on Pakistan.

Thank you
