Yes that was true...Karachi was lovely now I just feel like flushing every politician there washing their mouths in the very river they pollute!

People are illiterate, govt doesnt provide schooling, awareness programs nor even proper sanitation such as garbage collectors, proper toilets and stuff...To top that we dont have proper treatment plants as OP says out of the 3 the last one just broke and no one cares to revive it or even the first 2 which broke! Heck it is a far cry for them to make a new one as the population IS GROWING!

So yes 80% of the shit is the govt's fault....Then we have 20% of our own ignorance stupidity (for the educated ignorant) and illiteracy + ignorance (for the illiterate)

You referred so would like to say that Prophet Muhammad's sharia was also not limited to stoning and lashes................... whereas sharia of Pakistanis mainly revolves around these two only. Do normal common Pakistani stop at red light in 2:00 am? Do they care while constructing houses not to extend and try to grab part of street or gali (just visit residential area in Kala pull in Karachi and you will see what I mean)? I think you have not met a government baboo yet, that stupid clerk if he gets a chance he will prove himself more competent at corruption than Zardari.

Instead of spending $500 million on a fancy Islamabad - Rawalpindi Metro, why not spend instead on treatment plants and sewage disposal systems? Nawaz needs a re-look at his priorities.

Islamabad Metro is not by Federal Government but Buy Punjab Government and after 18th Amendment presented by PPP every Provincial Government are responsible for the Province and Federal is too busy and bother to look at Sindh....

Thandiani is a hill spot like Murree, I hail from there and I have personally seen people bringing packed food from Islamabad and Rawalpindi and throw leftovers there in open where they rest their rears and enjoy the scenery, that place has no janitorial staff, no watchmen, no police. The only thing that place has is the attitude of people visiting it. Those food wrappers could go back with people in their cars and disposed off at proper places but no it has to be thrown there as its that place's responsibility to deal with it, their responsibility was to honor that place with a visit.

I recall we went to some spot in Pakistan and I was a kid back then and saw someone throw some trash a few meters away from the dustbin and I was like....that guy has bad aim cant even score in the dustbin...He came back to pick up his trash to dump it in...Another time I had actually said maybe (another guy) is blind and missed the dustbin...

I know the same ignorant people would pick up after themselves in the West for fear of implemented laws! Well same should be done in Pakistan! Heck I usually put my garbage in my pockets wherever I see a dustbin I empty them!

Naaah, no sorry we have lived there peacefully for a very long time, Badtameezi mehmano k sath hum say na ho gi . Absence of dustbins is no excuse. Simple solution is use your common sense you don't need to bring food to place that has already hotels available. No sense in buying food from "Savor" in Rawalpindi or Islamabad and bringing it to a place 3 hours away.

Well at least Arabian Sea is not holy to Pakistanis while the Holy Ganges river is polluted where half burned bodies, ashes, industrial waste, garbage and human waste is dumped. Then the same water from Ganges is being used for drinking and bathing. In Banaras Hindu pilgrim take bath in Ganges while few meters away half burned bodies floats in the river.
