Police said Torres was already engaging with a man on bicycle before the group (Including Nabra) shown up, Police believe either the guy on bike cut him off (Torres was driving) or some argument broke out between the man and Torres and at the same time, Nabra Group show up next to Torres when Torres mount the kerb. Either Torres see this is a sign for another "incident" or Torres still in the mood of engagement, he got out of his car and chase down the group, in the process, Police alleged that Torres grab Nabra when she was separated from the group. In the Process, police alleged Torres rape and kill the teen by beating her with a baseball bat.

It is the latest police finding as of late. I don't know about this because I am not associated with this crime in any way or form, the police may change the account once more if they see fits.

However, if thing stands, it does not point to Torres is actively seeking Muslim kids to kill, or is he intended to target the nearby mosque. In fact, Police have some degree of doubt Torres, being from El Salvador, would know what a traditional Muslim dress like. Yes, it might be tricky, it's usually reserved for multiple murders or murder with attempted murder, but maybe Torres' conduct suffices. I'd expect his lawyer to appeal, though.

You cannot label everyone who kills people a terrorist, there is a federal guideline on that. You have to have a motive and agenda to be able to called a Terrorist. That's why we called James Holmes a mass murder when he killed 12 and we called Dylan Roof a terrorist when he only killed 9.

Actually, the issue is more political. Because in US, death sentence is automatically appealed, and you can have 7 State and Federal Appeal before your times is up, and it could drag on for years and spend a lot of public money just to move people up and down from death row.

I mean if we kill these people immediately after they were sentence to death, that would be another story, but if we convict people like Torres and sentence him on Death Row, he would probably drain up public resource to put a stay of execution, which is going to cost the state government millions of dollars.

Unless the man's crime is very unforgiveable, you usually don't get death, in fact, I don't think Torres has planned this to begin with (The Police originally charged him with 2nd Degree Murder) the reason why he is now charged with Capital Murder is because he rape the kid, and that's an automatic aggregative factor to bump the charge. That's why I don't think the judge is going to send him to death row.
