what we are really discussing here cultural aggression or indian cultural aggression particularly . if we are talking about western aggression i thing this aggression has embrace the whole world and bangladesh is not different . we all subcontinent pupil are following there dresses and so on this is the reality . we very often seeing the traditional dresses wear by people from india pakistan among the so called educated people because we have set our mind that western culture is the best culture .

And now the Indian aggregation in Bangladesh in cultural front i very evident that during eid we are buying woman cloth wear by hindi serial's actress etc . we are watching Indian tv Chanel whether they are not telecasting our Chanel there .

My personal belief is that popular media should be family friendly -- you should be able to watch TV with your kids. If adults want racy material, they can make the extra effort to go get it somewhere else. However, the media is full of incompetent hacks with no creativity and, in a race for eyeballs and dollars, the uncreative hacks will always take the cheap and easy way out -- sex sells. Of course, the clever ones couch their lack of creativity as an expression of 'freedom' or 'pushing the boundaries'; some perverts even sell their kiddy **** as 'art'.

Well, I am not saying there should be a moral or social lesson either. Most people want mindless entertainment, not a sermon.

It is possible to create good clean entertainment, but it takes a lot more creative talent than having a bunch of half-naked girls flopping around.

I always find it funny to watch talent shows like 'American Idol' or 'Australia Has Talent'. All these poor contestants go through so much tension and abuse and the winner usually fades from the spotlight after a few months. Meanwhile, you have all these music videos with half-naked girls that sell millions of copies while the winners from talent shows are nowhere to be seen.

Actually I told the exact same things when I debated with a North Indian Muslim colleague of mine some time ago about who is the best actor of bollywood. Plus SRK never won any national award, which I consider the epitome of cultural accomplishment as an actor in India. But my colleague responded that i don't like SRK because he is a Muslim. I stopped the debate then and there and made it a point to never be friendly with that guy.

I was never a great fan of bollywood or never will be. As a South Indian we have our own regional cinemas who are doing a pretty god job at keeping us entertained in our local language. Pakistanis and Bangladeshis who whine at the influence of bollywood in their film industries should learn from South Indian movie industry on how to produce quality cinemas in shoe string budget (when compared to bollywood). My preference was always Malayalam>Tamil>English>Hindi.

I checked the local newspaper, the Bollywood films running in my city are Ready (2 shows) and Shaitan(4 Shows)

You wont get accused of being an extremist , Loads of people deplore and dislike excess skin -shows in bollywood , including some eminent personalities who sit on the Indian Censor Board.

So do many members of RSS and Shiv Sena as well

But your ideas will be music to the ears of the vendors and distributors of pirated copies and Dvds , leading to losses worth crores to legitimate traders and owners of cinema halls. The steamy stuff will still keep on coming one way or the other when there is a demand.

The Censor Board is a throwback of our Socialistic past.10 or 15 middleaged men/women sitting in censor board should not have the right to decide what the rest of India will see or not see. They should just see the film, stamp the appropriate certificate and release it. The public will decide whether they want to see or avoid the film.

Well, some movies made in Bangladesh are really good such as Matir Moyna, Monpura and Guerilla, but the number of good movies compared to the number of bad movies is really very disappointing. The target audience of most of the movies are basically the lower strata of the society, so you can understand that these movies are absolute junk.
