SRINAGAR: Police have arrested Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Yasin Malik to prevent him from attending a seminar of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) in occupied Kashmir.
The arrest came hours after a court granted him bail in a 1987 fake case.
Reports said police raided the residence of Muhammad Yasin Malik in Maisuma area late night after he was released on Saturday. The forces arrested him and lodged him at Kothibagh Police Station in Srinagar.
The police denied to comment on re-arrest of JKLF chief.
The arrest triggered tension in Maisuma.
The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, the Chairman of his own Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, have jointly organized a day-long seminar against the proposed separate colonies for Pandits and Indian soldiers, today, at the Tehreek-e-Hurriyet office, Hyderpora.
Reports said Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have also been put under house arrest.
