LMAO @ this thread.
Most of you need to learn some basics of diplomacy.[/QU
chill..... It's time you realise there is no ummah... only national interest.....

When comes to money no one cares about UMMA .....Its all about business.... Emirates alone operates 185 flights a week to india. Etihad around 100.. Jet airways has base in ABUDHABI... and not to forget Indian investment in UAE and vice versa.........Indians are in TOP in investment in UAE. ......Its give n take............only countries with good diplomatic brains will understand this..........

If I could, I would grab the Pakistani's who sing songs about these GCC people by the neck and drag them to the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, India to see the Arabs marching and saluting Modi Jee. Then I would grab and to see Burj Khalifa emblazoned with the flag of their enemy India in heart of UAE.

And I know their apologists are going to consult the book of 101 excuses like 'oh it's only a parade' - ignoring that it means a lot. When few Russian soldiers trained in Pakistan (let alone march down Islamabad on Defence Day) half of Pakistan was in state of sexual climax.

The other excuse will be 'oh we did not send soldiers to Yemen'. Right so how many soldiers has India sent to Yemen or how many wil she send? Zero. In short Pakistan has to spill blood of it's jawans for these GCC people to accord respect?

But India gets the full Modi Jeee treatment free of cost while also enjoying having the largest number of Indians employed in GCC and making sending huge remittances to India.

At least this event might shake a few Paks into getting their thinking cleared out. I have been saying this for years at PDF but got constantly rebuked.
Sometimes you make sense.

So why most Pakistanis do not put national interests first, why is it always about the ''Ummah'' or the Muslim World?

This can be explained through the creation of Pakistan which was made in the name of Islam. Thus, it's ingrained in our DNA to think about the Muslim world. My personal opinion on this is that national interests must come first, because the Arabs have certainly never cared for us and the Iranians are no better. Therefore, Pakistan must forge strong links with China, Russia, Turkey and Indonesia.

There is needless hate here. If Indians want to celebrate a building being lit in their colors, and especially one in a country that has had a historic tilt toward Pakistan, it's all good! Enjoy the moment. No need for nasty comments from my fellow Pakistanis.

There are a huge number of Indians in the UAE and I can see why the UAE govt would want to do this.

Pakistan should just be more aware of its relationship and expectations of the UAE govt.

.
With 40% of the population of UAE Indian expats this was waiting to happen. But now Pakistanis can demand/ask for the same thing for their independence days or other celebrations. BTW @Levina the fireworks past year were something to look at. Dubai is indeed the center of the world.

India 2,600,000 (27.15%)
Pakistan 1,200,000 (12,53%)

Proportionally Pakistanis are far greater then Indians even in UAE if you compare the population of respective countries.
It was not due to population. It was simply an alignment of economic interest.
Pakistanis can demand/ask for the same thing for their independence days or other celebrations. Why we demand from UAE to celebrate our Independence day. Pakistan is enough to celebrate its own independence.
By the way it was again Indian Muslims who initially entered in UAE due to sympathy Pakistan had for them in initial days when UAE open its doors.Later they just become Indians.
We Pakistanis just need to become pakistani and the things will sort out then.
Instead of cursing other nations. When somebody negotiate next with you just tell them "What benefit will PAKISTAN get out of this? " Give respect to yourself and others will respect you.

Guys we don't need anyone's support to be at the plateau of progress. We built and maintained tiny islands into what are now called gulf welfare states long before anyone dare to enter there . Stick to your indo-turcko-iranic clan and learn from em , how to live with dignity and preserve self esteem without becoming anyone's bitc** .

@Attila the Hun thanks cousin

There are different statistics from different sources. The source I believe to be true is around 40% Indians in UAE and close to 25% Pakistanis. Emiratis are at 15-16%. But this is all speculation. Exact population is always a victim of different sources. I used the wikipedia page. But neither of us are wrong. We are just qouting another source or another time frame. I think these figures were more valid in 2009 than 2016. But that may be my opinion.

As for why we should ask for illuminating the burj khalifa in our colours on independence day, well it is more of a token of goodwill to the country. If Indian flag is displayed and ours not on our important days then the Indians are taking advantage and we aren't. I personally think we should have something like this on our national days.

As for the the Indian muslims I haven't heard much. We migrated a later than 47 and still call ourselves Pakistani muslims though those who call themselves Indian muslims among our relatives are those who stayed on in Lucknow. I don't see this as a much documented or relevant point nor do I know what you are trying to say with this brother hitchhiker but I am not a muhajir nationalist to be even wanting to debate this. In fact I am highly opposed to muhajir nationalism.

Btw this explains the large variety of population estimates:

Indians
This is the largest group from the South Asian countries which gives a major contribution to the overall population of UAE making a great impact on the demographic patterns of the country. The Indians have been living in the country for decades with great contributions to the business and economic development of UAE. Indians have an overall population of around 2million in the country comprising to 42% of total population of UAE. The sizeable number is well represented in almost all the spheres of work with a majority of the population serving in the manufacturing industries. Most the Indian population lives in the main city areas of Dubai like Deira, Bur Dubai and Quasais. The majority of the Indian population comes from the Southern state of Kerala. Besides the working classes, there are also some big business houses in the city having a vast chain of businesses across UAE.

It says that 42% of the UAE pop is Indian. So there is your 27%, the 40% on wiki, and 43% as I said by different estimates and different times. Its useless to argue on population as its constantly changing. But I hope you get kaptaans point. Pakistanis can easily replace all the Afghans/Indians and Phillipinos. Since we built UAE from the ground up this should be a small concession from UAE or even Saudi. But we are seen as inferior at times though most of my experience of UAE locals has been neutral if not positive.

I do not want to sound offensive or aggressive but I don't see your point hitchhiker bro. Indians of all kinds specially mallus have made UAE their home. The majority of Indians are muslims of Indian (vast ethnic) origin. Is this Indian muslim influx you are talking about? Well we have relatives from Lucknow in Dubai. They are staunch secularists and even justify their countries horrendous beef ban. But I feel Pakistanis can easily replace them in every field and our part of Karachi family is highly evolved mentally and educated.

I do not personally think that UAE/Saudi/Qatar/Oman/Kuwait have done all they could for Pakistanis. There is much potential and an eager expatriate population. Perhaps we could replace the Indians and Phillipinos rather than just be drivers.
