World War II: 'India should claim its role in victory of Allied forces'

Indians trying to re-write their humiliating WWII history...

From Wikipedia...
The Japanese were highly successful in recruiting Indian soldiers taken prisoner. From a total of about 40,000 Indian personnel in Singapore in February 1942, about 30,000 joined the pro-Japanese "Indian National Army", which fought Allied forces in the Burma Campaign

They are the true heroes. They fought against the British to liberate their MotherLand.

I think India's role in WWII and WWI should remain in army and popular history. We were needlessly dragged into those wars. We achieved nothing politically for taking part in them. However the army with this experience became truly world-class. So for them it should be a celebration.

Oh yeh? How could India claim victory even not independent back then WW2?

If fruits of Kuomintang's victory(albeit with support from allies) can be claimed by Communist China based on the majority principle, why not the Indians claim the fruits of the British victory whose army was made up of majority Indians as well as the British empire at that time was made up of majority Indian population.

Cause Kuomintang is still there, and British India was gone. India nowadays is just a Water down version of previous British India, by that logic, Pakistan and BD could claim victory as well. Dream on....

First Indo-Pak war, 1947
Second Indo-Pak war, 1965

Kargil war, 1999,

Lost

Third Indo-Pak war, 1971
.......

Won because of meddling in other country affairs, that country was fighting thousands of miles away from mainland & all three sides were india, no supply lines, just 39000 soilders vs 200000 indian army with supply & full backup, 500000 mutki terrorists, 90% population fully supporting, etc etc

For forget for Pakistani, their is nothing before 1947.......

Punjabis from Pakistan & Pushtoons made up big part of British Army & thus they are Pakistanis so you can't claim their service as yours:azn:

Ever heard of an ash still preserved and worshiped in Renkoji?

Well I think Indian role in WW2 is very limited and is not very significant compared to the money and lives others lost.

India was a baby back then and no one will recognize our role. But in independent wars India has performed well winning all wars against Pak and performing well in 1962. If we didn't have Nehru as PM in 62 maybe the results could have been different.

The Pakistani textbooks controversy relates to the reported inaccuracy of some Pakistani textbooks and the existence of historical revisionism in them. The content of Pakistan's official textbooks has often been criticized by several sources including many within Pakistan for sometimes promoting religious intolerance and Indophobia, leading to calls for curriculum reform
Anti-Indian sentiments, coupled with anti-Hindu prejudices have existed in Pakistan since its formation, alternated with military dictatorship, and India being a secular state with a civilian government.[5] According to Tufts University professor Seyyed Vali Reza Nasr, Indophobia in Pakistan increased with the ascendancy of the militant Islamist Jamaat-e-Islami under Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi.[5] Indophobia, together with Anti-Hinduism and racist ideologies, such as Martial Race theory, were the driving factors behind the re-writing of school textbooks in Pakistan (in both "secular" schools and Islamic madrassahs) in order to promote a biased and revisionist historiography of the Indian subcontinent that promulgated Indophobic and anti-Hindu prejudices. These narratives are combined with Islamist propaganda in the extensive revising of Pakistan's history. By propagating concepts such as jihad, the inferiority of non-Muslims, India’s perceived ingrained enmity with Pakistan, etc., the textbook board publications used by all government schools promote an obscurantist mindset
