Work harder to beat the Bangalore ,Beijing challenge: Obama to students

Part of outsourcing is the fact that americans dont want answer phones and code like robots for a living. They want to be productive and innovative for better living standards.

Wrong it's cost. Answering phone is simple job that a 12th grade passed in India can do for 1/4th of cost.

And yet, on any American techie forum like slashdot, going by American sentiment, it looks like the Americans are dying to do those jobs!

One thing which has let US down is the fact that once it was a magnet for Indian brain because of good pay in $$'s but now India companies are paying as good as to them so keeping them inside India and using them for outsourcing work from west.

And even in cases where Indian companies don't pay as well as American ones but still well enough for the techies to fulfill all their ambitions, there's always the advantage of living in one's home country in which one was born and attachment to friends and family.

Today one can get more or less the same lifestyle (read hospitals, nightlife, education for the children etc.) in India if one has the money to pay for them so people prefer to stay in their home country rather than going to a foreign land.

Why do u want to waste ur hard earned money on imported goods from India,if ur working in US or any country,if Indian companies are paying well ..they do now..then why do u want to go to some distant country and waste ur money--consider cost of living also!!

ACCEPT IT GUYS...INDIA AND CHINA ARE THE FUTURE.

When more than a billion peolpe start to realise that they can do sooooooooooooooo much with their lives and the opportunities their country gives them, it is nearly impossible to stop them.

Americans progressed because they really wanted to.
Indians are progressing because they really want to.
Chinese are progressing because they really want to.

We are thousands year old civilizations who have just woken up from centuries of oppression and tyranny.

21st centuries belongs to us.

Finally, after thousands of years, the sleeping giants of asia wake up.

and now the trend is come to west get you degree some experience plus citizenship then go back to work in a multinational in your own country and be a bridge between both the nations.

seriously, american students beating us, these kids learn newtons laws at their 12th grade, while we have them on our lips since class 5, america should change its education system if it wants to beat us

High school education in certain parts of the US do suck...but the vast majority of university education is more superior than the vast majority of institutions in India. How many Indian higher educational institutions are in the top list? Now don't tell me the American universitites are no top because of Indian immigration. Indian immigration only started from the late 1960's and all the top institutions have histories from the 1800's.

the Indian American community in America includes a huge number of second and third generation immigrants.....all the IIT graduates responsible for placing Silicon Valley at the technological peak that is today emmigrated from India in the 1960's and 1970's.....a huge number act as faculty members in the technological institutes like MIT ,Carnegie mellon, Philadelphia , Berkeley...etc...also
there was a survey conducted by a respectable American organization
which detailed the education levels of different ethnic groups ....they placed Jews and Indians at the first place with a huge majority of post graduate degree holders and Phd holders amongst us......

They are all Americans not Indians taking advantage of the "superior" Indian system
