Not really.. There have been instances of Indian diplomats (even ambassadors and ex presidents) being patted down in security clearance.. What's wrong with American diplomats going thru same in India.?

And AFAIK security isn't thinned. Its just the withdrawal of the "goodies" offered specially to US. Similar facilities are not given to our diplomats in US.
