Windows 7 Asus Phone spotted in Pakistan | TG Daily

this news often shows up in searches. I wonder if anyone in Pakistan seen this gadget yet? Or just a rumor?

Speaking of Windows Phone 7, here is a rather funny video:

Michael Jackson's Thriller and Microsoft Geeks:

I think I am going to get a 'WinPho'. Anyone else?

I might go for WinPho 6 months after its release so all the bugs are fixed by that time. Suggest you wait meanwhile try getting HTC :)

I have an HTC: Pure from AT&T. I like it enough. I was going to join the Droid bandwagon but then decided to wait till WinPho 7. I think, just like in Windows 7 OS release, MS is putting extra effort into testing WinPho and so, I trust, it will be a stable product (even if a bit dumbed down: No 3rd party multi-tasking; no copy/paste. Sad).

One of the companies said they won't launch Smartphone with WinPho OS before 2011.

Hey Luftwaffe:
Here is another video--the first commercial that I am aware of a Windows Phone 7 of HTC Mondarian. Nice ad.

htc is now available???

I don't think any Windows Phone 7 is available just yet. Even these adverts and images are 'unofficial' as of now.
Having said that, given HTC's track record of success, I think HTC will lead the introduction of WinPho 7.

Looks like October 21 may be the intro to Europe; in the US, early November. No official dates yet.

Speaking of HTC, here is some more info on the elusive HTC 7:

HTC HD7 specs leaked. First Windows 7 Phone shows its teeth|Free PC Guides

" Although the name isn’t that original, the specs that have just been leaked look great; let’s take a look.

First of all, the HD7 will have a 4.3” WVGA TFT display with a capacitive touch-screen (this should guarantee a much better response than most phones having a resistive one), able to put up a 480×800 resolution – fair, but still not enough for the 5 megapixels camera, which has autofocus, 2x LED flash and a 2 step camera button. The device will use a 1GHz Qualcomm processor and will have 512 MB RAM. The internal storage space is only 512 MB, but it’s well completed by the included 8GB microSD card. On the connectivity side, the new HTC will only have assisted GPS, but instead it will feature a number of cool add-ons like the digital compass, motion, ambient light and proximity sensors and a couple more which you can check out in the sheet. Furthermore, it will support Bluetooth 2.1, EDR, Wi-Fi, USB and micro USB, practically all the frequently used ports and detectors."

Windows Phone 7 is going to be launched in a live event Monday morning:

Windows Phone Newsroom

I am pretty sure, despite doubts, that WinPho will establish itself as at least the 3rd larget smart phone platform in a few years.

I am excited about it. I believe Microsoft's platforms are far more open and cost-effective than Apple. I have started my almost one-man Crusade against Apple in the big institute where I work. I will challenge Apple with the same zeal the Apple fanbois mock other platforms.

Here is my letter to NY Times from yesterday, in the same vein.

What Did Microsoft and Adobe Chiefs Talk About? - Readers' Comments - NYTimes.com

The 'evil empire' was always Apple. It just lost because it tried to control too much on hardware/software side. Apple fanbois have a deep grudge against Microsoft: About two decades of deserved lost presence for Apple. Apple of today is the same control-freak Apple it was decades ago: You cannot install Apple OS on non-Apple machines. You cannot run non-Apple OS on Apple machines. You cannot legally run Apple OS in virtual environments....
The list is rather long. Mostly because of the lies from Apple and their fanbois we have the negative opinion of Microsoft. If Microsoft's OS was really SO BAD then, for decades, 90+% of world-wide machine would not have been running Windows platform. Critical machines in airports, hospitals, govt. departments, schools, corporations still run Windows. Yes, Windows has more viruses but that is precisely because the hackers would want to target the largest possible machine-pool. Yes, Windows machine seem to have more reports of crashes but that is precisely because the freedom Microsoft gave to 3rd party hardware and software vendors to do whatever they wanted with Windows. But this kind of freedom given by Microsoft has made computers and innovation really cheap and prevalent. Think what would have happened if Apple had won decades ago? Think hard.

The Big Brother was always Apple. And today they are poised to be not the proverbial 800-pound gorilla but the 8000-pound gorilla by being the largest corporation of any kind in the world.
Apple is a dangerous company for technology for being so manipulative of media and for being control-freak. Their fanbois are the fanatic version equivalent to some religious cult.
I'd say let Adobe and Microsoft collaborate to stop the march of techno-fascism led by Apple!
