Turkey’s top UAV companies have one goal, to become a global leader in unmanned aerial assaults. And their latest piece of hardware, the Bayraktar Akinci could mark a big step. It’s one of Turkey’s most advanced and sophisticated unmanned combat aerial vehicles or UCAVs. And according to Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, this new leap in drone technology has taken the country’s defence industry into the big leagues.

The question is,if the modern AA systems and Air Forces can see them. If they can see them, they can shoot them down.
The Armenians had only 4 Su-30SMs that they didn't even use in the war and the LNA has a similar air force.
However in Libya, some 20 or more Bayraktar were shot down by the LNA. In Syria,I don't know the number, but probably around there. Some say even more, but I don't know. Now,Akinci is supposed to be even bigger than TB2,right?

This drone thing could be like a summer hit song that everyone listens to and becomes the number one hit for a while, but is soon out of the scene. How would such a drone army perform against a normal country with proper air defence and modern air force?
No,I'm not gonna say us...let's say...Turkey vs Iran or Turkey vs Egypt. Or Ukraine vs Belarus or something.

Akinci is large and that will give it a lot of room to pack advance weapons of all kinds for broken or small nations places like north Syria and north of Iraq and Libya but in turn its biggest advantage becomes its biggest weakness when facing larger nations or countries with decent air power, Iran has better air defense system and longer range radars to detect targets like Akinci at long ranges with a decent air power for both ground to air or air to air engagements, Egypt in other hand has more powerful air power and decent air defense systems, all said Akinci will become extremely more dangerous when or if it becomes armed with long range air to air missiles for nations like Egypt that leans more heavily on air power rather then on air defense missiles or hunter drones that take on air to air interception missions.

Its not like as if these drones will be going against fighter jets and AD systems alone, against a proper army. They will be used in a network centric warfare, along with fighter jets and EW assets. They will help fill in the gaps and provide extra options. They will even be useful if they can lure in fire from AD systems, which will expose their location.
