Just in today's news it was mentioned that he wants to allow alcohol because more people getting addicted to duplicate alcohol which is dangerous for life but VHP & RSS are dead against it.

Coming back to the topic, Yes.. today's majority of urban educated lot would prefer Modi ahead of his rivals. Modi speaks their tone, while his rivals are too busy trying to play that same age old politics of divide between the classes & religions.

Rahul gave a lecture in my college in 2005,

This was an informal lecture on the college lawn and not in an auditorium,i asked him as to why students without a background cant get into politics.He said in both politics and cinema,only people frome stablished families can get in,he was being honest but he forgot that people Modi come from humble backgrounds and got here because of hardwork and RSS.

This incident in simple words,explained me the difference between the Sangh and others.

Alcohol ban was in force ever since the state was established, in 1960. Tradition is still followed, however you can easily get your hands on any kinda alcohol whenever you want though

Thats the sad part. The Muslims of India have been held hostage by this very scare mongering by the so called secular congress party. When infact most of the riots in India have taken place under the watch of Congress government, not BJP.

Aren't BJP leaders Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Shahnawaz Hussain muslims?
