Will next Army Chief continue the tradition?

Punjab, Punjab and Punjab. If you remove the lens of Provincial bias you would know the meetings repotedlt happen around when there are serious apprehensions in Army regarding Fed Gov and Shahbaz Shareef comes in as a rep of Fed gov not Punjab ,trying to remove them. Good cop bad cop routine both brothers play. I am sure if CM of any other province wants to meet COAS secretly he won't refuse too. So for instance if CM KPK wants ho meet RS over CPEC I don't think he will refuse.BTW how do you know other CMs don't meet 'secretly' ? it maybe media doesn't think it important enough to report? I doubt you have your own intel sources.

This recent anti army vitriolic seems to be coming from mostly PTI rotus who are crying IK couldn't fulfil his life time dream of becoming ego-in-chief of Pakistan.

PTI is behaving as if in panic mode clutching at straws so they pick provincialism. I think they have called it a day too early, they shouldnt lose hope and curl into a provincial party as PPP. Face the blunders and fight like brave men and not to embarrass themselves as a bunch of sore losers. PTI hardly has left with street power even in KPK and they want a coup over few thousands protesters.

No sir. I don't have own intel sources. I belong from Punjab even before partition. I wait for the day when Media will report on secret meeting between CM of an other province with Chief for backgorund maneuvoring. Only then I will realize that they are not Children of lesser God.
Do you mean the same way RS met IK? Or the direct contact between them during Dharna drama where IK was spanked in to behaving himself?

I don't get this nation, if the Army tries to act as a mediator in their disputes, phir bhi galli. If they take over government, phir bhi galli. If they don't come in between in their dirty games, phir bhi galli.

Can't run this country themselves and like to blame everything on the Army. What's next? We are going to blame the Army for us throwing our sh*t on the streets too? Let's blame the Army for taking and giving bribes too. "Blame the Army" seems to be the newest trend amongst the inbred loonies.
He should have spanked his DG ISI before spanking IK. The Angles are part of the problem since start. Whether it is creation of MQM, Nawaz Sharif or Imran Khan, NRO, and many others . Pardon me for questioning them.

Obviously, only man with stick can become ego-in-chief. Others can't

See anyone who questions the Angels must be from KPK or some other province. He can't be from Punjab and raise questions.

Like I said there needs to be an issue. Secret meeting does not automatically mean 'Daste Shafqat'

I fail to pick any substance from your pionts unfortunately. You are hurt and disappointed over something abour army and you are clutching at wavering arguements.

Sir, my whole theory is that Army is still nurturing and protecting N.R.O in one way or another. The role of Raheel is not clear to cult of Army now as he is still the Chief and no doubt he got a better ISPR. Same was the case with Kayani but his ISPR team wasn't good. Let a year or two pass and we will find about whether it was a "Dast-e-shafqat" or not.

I am sure now he is a man of merit. I know it from my personal experience and from those around me. I don't need an ISPR to tell me that. A COAS who stands up to shake hands with a young captain in his office tells a lot about a man.

That is his relationship with fellow soldiers and juniors. It has nothing to do with my theory and only time will tell whether my theory is true or wrong. So, I request to adjourn my case for a later time.

I didn't say you can't question the Army etc. I question their actions myself and encourage it. But what I don't understand is this recent trend amongst some to blame the Army for not over throwing NS. I mean I am as anti NS as they get, but why drag the Army again through the dirty political games if they are trying hard to remain neutral in all this mess. IK is not an angel himself. The Army takes a role in politics because politicians themselves invite them. Have you forgotten the politics of the 90s? Or the celebration by Anti Bhuttos when he was toppled? Who was cheering the most when Ayub Khan took over? Who was giving mithai out when Mushy took over? Who was sending bangles to Army chiefs when they wouldn't take over the country on their behest?

Question everyone, not just the Army. Everyone is dirty in this mess, but at least the Army is trying to hard to clear the mess it started, while IK and NS are busy playing football with important projects such as CPEC etc. Who is desperately trying to make CPEC controversial? The Army?

Obviously, only man with stick can become ego-in-chief. Others can't

Both IK and NS has massive egos. Both rule their own dominions like Kings. Army Dictators are as bad as political dictators.

Agreed. It is particularly stupid for me because I support PTI over Noon league a milion times. But IK is really immature for a man of his age, Pakistan is going through such a critical phase such as OPs against terrorists, start of CPEC etc and all IK can think of is over throwing NS.

Since the withdrawal of PPP from federal politics, I was glad that PTI would take their place and unite the federation as I don't consider Noon League as a federal party, but PTI has continued to disappoint and now Pakistan risks falling in to the abyss of Balkanisation, especially as I have noticed that a lot of PTI cadres's language is becoming increasingly provincial. I really thought PTI would be different, and I hope IK can see sense.

Pakistan needs IK, but not as provincial leader.

Keepinp in mind our history, do you honestly think Army would have remained this much "neutral" if it was PPP's government and events like these would have happened.

1. Maliging DG ISI on a main stream channel and Govt siding with Channel
2. Modi coming on a private visit to PM's family event,
3. Model Town's massacre
4. National Security Breach

As far as CPEC is concerned, I honeslty think that smaller provinces' demands whether right or wrong should be accepted.

Totally agree. I would chose IK million times over NS too. If PTI turns it into KPK vs Punjab thing then I am afraid PTI just shot itself dead.

People abuse Kayani because he apparently looked the other way at PPP's failure. Zardari was more unpopular than Mush, and the Army could have easily got rid of him. PPP did malign the army, ask the former traitor ambassador who was complaining complaining about the Army to Uncle Tom throughout PPP's tenure. Have you forgotten Haqqani?

I agree that the more needs to be done to hold NS and SS accountable, but in a democracy that is the job of the courts. Not the Army. By basically saying that the Army needs to hold NS accountable is again asking them to over step their boundaries which they have been trying hard to stay in since the much maligned Kiyani.

As for the grievances of the small provinces, I agree with you 100% on that. The success of CPEC hinges on the unity of the people, ALL the people and not just from one particular province.

In PPP's case, they did get Gillani out through the courts because eventually courts also look towards them. But they won't in NS's case. Whether right or wrong but question will arise that why they stay neutral if PM is from their old love/PMLN.

Raheel also looked other way on Punjab as if Sindh and Karachi were the only source of terrorism and corrouption. Banning Zardari/Sindhi from entering Pakistan for one speech is another mistake. MQM's militant wing is being clean laundered once again and hope it doesn't bite us back once again.

In order to clean one mess, they create another.
