Will Mumbai finally surpass Shanghai this year?

Having promised to make Mumbai better than Shanghai by 2009 and then failed to deliver, Manmohan Singh provided no further updates.

Could anyone at least give a rough estimate as to when Mumbai could hope to surpass Shanghai?

If not this year, when will Mumbai surpass Shanghai? How long will it take?

Whats up with your obsession to Mumbai?LOl

I don't think anyone actually cares about Mumbai, as long as you don't compare it with Shanghai.
What's wrong to compare?People learn from the best..
But it's the idiocy to consider every such random articles or statements & take this as a portrayal of every Indian's mindset.

I don't know about Mumbai but I will definitely saw Shanghai is damn awesome. Shanghai GDP was recorded $414 bn in 2016.

Sorry.

Slow, lethargic, indisciplined, disorderly, out of line, unruly, un-compliant, termagant & raucous Indians can not make it.

I have no problem compare with China, but it is Indian keep saying why some of Chinese here keep putting India down! If one want to compare, then one should able to take criticized from other, otherwise, if one can not take the heat, then get out the kitchen! or don't compare!

You like to call yourself American or Chinese?

Post some people too. Skyscrapers are boring. The people make a city.

I can do even better....

Here are some videos of what street life is like in Chinese cities. These videos are all made by an European woman who's studied in China.

I heard there are now some Indian students studying in China. They must have been very surprised at how far ahead China is compared to India. The level of cleanliness in China alone would be an eye-opening experience for the Indians.

Shanghai

Beijing
(when will Delhi catch up with Beijing?)

Shenzhen

Guangzhou

If you don't have the patience to watch all the videos, this one has all the mixed footage from various Chinese cities:

To give our Indian friends some idea of how much Mumbai lags behind Shanghai, here is a video tour of Shanghai. Notice the cleanliness and the organization. These are the qualities Indians don't possess but need to learn if India is to develop.

When Indians visit Shanghai in China, their go through three stages of psychological adjustments:

1) :woot::woot::woot:: Indians are completely overwhelmed by how modern and clean Shanghai is.
2) :(:(:(: They then become sad and despondent at how far India has fallen behind China.
3):mad::mad:: Finally, they become angry at the Indian political class and their talk of surpassing China because frankly there is no comparison or any hope of India catching up.
