If you study the history of India, you will clear see that it is composed of many small kingdoms, similar to medieval Europe. India exists today because of British unification of India. If Britain was not able to achieve complete conquest of India, then India would not be a country today. For example, if certain Indian empires such as Sihk or Maratha empires were able to successfully resisted the British or if the French was able to hold on to their possession in India, then India would be composed of many nations today. So the Indians can thank the British for a country called "India"

If PRC can claim Tibet because it was part of Ming Dynasty , then ROI can claim South and parts of South East Asia as both were part of different dynasties in India.
