I knew the month in which riots took place even though not the dates. My assumption was based on fact that if VHP is mobilizing for shilanyas, at least at some level they may have drew up contingency plans for muslims getting violent against their caders.And my assertions were just speculative and fleeting which i have made clear in last sentence and was based on fact that de mobilisation of caders was not complete at the time of godhra train burning.I usually stay clear of these retarded godhra discussions which are neither part of my domain nor i have first hand information about them as in 2002,i was a child going to school.

I am not a congress supporter and am going to vote for BJP the only difference is that i would do that because congress PM candidate Rahul Gandi is an idiot. My opposition to congress is based on it's economic and social policies (i am against socialism) and incompetence of their leaders ( Sonia and Rahul Gandhi).

I believe modi to be a good administrator but his fan brigade inflates his qualities out of proportion. He is CM of a state where people want to improve their lives. It is easy to develop those states compared to some basket case where people want to live on doles of government (a addiction nurtured by congress).

And gentlemen be true to ourselves, most of the people who support Modi do that because he put Muslims in their place,not because he is a very good administrator.There are a lot of people who support BJP due to the fact that they dislike Congress but cult of Modi is driven by former types.

I am in not a mood to discuss godhra riots and have started a new thread regarding Shortcomings of Rahul gandhi.

anyway let me hazard a guess and try to answer....if you are saying that the godhra carnage and the gujarat riots are all part of a grand conspiracy by the sangh to somehow create a chance to kill muslims...then that is downright absurd and i disagree with that.....

if you are saying that vhp were ready to retaliate at all times and somehow the stupid muslims in godhra gave them a chance to retaliate then that is a very outlandish theory since no body knows for a fact that the vhp were indeed mobilizing....

my theory is simple....gujarat has a communal history going back centuries......there have been several riots...far more deadly than 2002 and which started for lesser reasons.....so when the godhra carnage happened...it was just a cycle of mindless violence repeating once again.....but good thing is....it has not repeated after 2002...kudos to modi for that......

I happen to think NaMo has provided solid leadership to the muslims in gujarat that has made them join the mainstream e.g police force instead of the underworld (..that used to happen in the past) and get educated and aspire for a better life. That is much better than blaming hindus for their social and economic backwardness and plotting to burn trains carrying hindu pilgrims.

Congress insipid and corrupt leadership is a seperate issue and is no way related to Modi. Modi is a great man even if congress leadership was Great.

People in every state aspire for a better life. Gujarat is nothing special. it is just like any other state in India and any other place in the world. No one likes to live on doles ....they do it out of necessity as they see that is the only thing Govt. is prepared to give.

Modi is a legend because from a boy born in a poor family and working in a tea stall selling tea he has become the most loved Chief Minister all due to his own effort and without compromising his integrity. How many such examples would you find in this world ?
