Both Shafaq and Seaqeh are copies of Northrop F-5s . It uses rd-33 engine and a wide array russian avionics so there goes your total self reliance theory. F-313 doesnt have a flying prototype , so you can safely say that there are still doubts about the project . Dont even get me started on that their apcs . Transport planes, tu 214s they make is with cooperation with Russia .

The fact that most countries rely on TOTs and Joint ventures for defence production , doesnt mean that they are compromising on ingenuity and these products are no way inferior either .

Japan's F-2 fighter is essentially f-16 clone isnt it. South Koreas K-2 tanks uses Leopard 2A6 's gun and incorporates many technologies from the K-1( License produced Abraham) . TAI's T-129 is based on Augusta westlands A-129 . Even US drones such Mq-1 predator have a lot of Israeli input in them.

The Main Problem Lies In Private Sector , All major Companies are private No matter Europe , US , Russia , China if these companies make some thing majority of funds go into their pockets , While Majority Of What Pakistan makes its by GOV

And Why Spend Millions OF RD and waste of extra projects which you not gone use , Everyone see just Few projects which are success but their are thousands of different projects which are total wastage of money and time so Thats why Pakistan army is not doing that they are selecting proven and reliable weapon systems .
Private sector is growing now in 20 30 years Even Private Sector has been developed alot you will also see new things being developed for Pakistan but now no one can afford it

A) when India build its LCH , world refused to provide us gear shaft technology, So India develop Gearless Rotor System for its LCH. Innovation .

B) India build is own Processor for its missile system and build its own Mission computer.

C) India today produces Car steel

I think both PAC kamra and HIT are doing a fine job , with their respective projects, But we also have many private companies working in the defence sector . GIDS ( global industrial defence solutions) is a prime example of a private company collaborating , it not only manufactures various types of military, industrial and technological products but also exports them.

Russia was asking for the crashed RQ-170 drone and the scan eagles that were captured a few years ago. Iranian drones are also reverse engineered and not "Original" as you would say . But that doesnt make them less lethal. Both the US and USSR reverse engineered the german V-2 , which eventually led to the the modern ICBM. Similarly the german Me-262 became the basis of all modern jet fighters
