Many large countries have disputes...China has...Japan has...Taiwan has...UK has.... and I can go on. These issues need to be tackled, but they have to tackled in a manner they have to be tackled that is best for all.

I agree, then what in your opinion should be done that will satisfy the needs of the muslim kashmiris? If the kashmiris in the valley are happy and feel their demànds have been met, then the issue will be resolved.

There is no restriction on forming a political party so long as it conforms to the laws of the land and those contesting swear allegiance to India.

Now, if such a party wins the state assembly will then have to pass a resolution annulling the accession of the state to the Indian union . It will need a majority for this.

Why dont the separatists stand for elections ?

We are a democracy & answers have to be found within the framework of the constitution.

I would not divide people into Hindus and Muslims. This division cannot yield solution but will create more problems. If 160 million Muslims can call India their home, I don't see why 5 million Kashmiri Muslims should have the problem.

It is not only in Kashmir...but India would not allow referendum in Punjab, Tamil Nadu or West Bengal too. Countries are there to progress as a unit not to hold referendums in its own parts and create more countries.

Pakistanis may think Kashmiris are not Indians...but Indians think Kashmiris are Indians.

On the second point...now tell me how many Indian Muslims want to migrate to Pakistan. How many have applied for asylum in Pakistan. The answer is zero.

And yes ..you can check the history...Kashmir was peaceful until 1989, when Pak started sending jihadis into Kashmir. In fact the movement for Tamil nation was much more violent and trouble some for Indian government than Kashmir ever was.

Kashmir was part of India since 1500 AD or even before (I am not good with history). Even under Mughals, Kashmir flourished. Lot of areas in Kashmir are named after Mughals kings.
