I read Castro's death main article on NY Times today and looked like a large number of Americans (yes, 'liberals') had high praise for Castro.
I'd take Castro over the corrupt, self-serving Batista regime of the 1950's.

The title of this topic is misleading. A large segment of the world--including in liberal and leftist segments of America itself--admire Castro.

One needs to know what was Cuba in the 1950s before Castro came along.

As for the Cubans celebrating in Florida--that's disgusting to me. It's like some expat Iranians want the neocons to bomb their own country just to get rid of the mullahs.
