SO Russia will sell AL 31 to China which will then sell J 10 to other countries

Same capabilities? On what basis are two aircraft families, each with numerous variants, on equal footing without any technical evidence to suggest any of their capabilities? Same principle applies for the "price", which remains largely unknown to the public.

Moreover, the Chinese could simply export the J-10 with the WS-10A engine, in which case the Russians get zilch.

The Chinese have been fielding and developing AESA radars since the early 2000s, headed by multiple research institutions, which compete for military contracts. Does Russia have a supply chain of the same capacity and experience?

The J-10 is compatible with both the WS-10 and Al-31F; I do not see how this is a sticking point for its exports.

How many Tejas have you sold? Not a troll post, seriously. You will soon find, you can sell exactly 0 during its entire lifetime.

India is finally making your own weapons, you hear reports of Philippines sale, Vietnam sale, you know how many you actually sold? I mean pen on paper? 0. This is the nature of all sales, until the ink dries, it doesn't mean jack.

A fighter deal is insanely hard to reach. All arms deals are hard to reach. Politics is just as important as capability. Russia may have been a defeated superpower, but their influence is not 0. Even their left over influence is far more than China many times over. The relationship with India is one.

I agree , securing a fighter jet deal is one of the most difficult and complex business out there. Ou need to have a very advanced fighter jet, large political influence, core industrial capabilities to provide a complete set of package from engines to the last bolt to the customer, diplomatic. Influence, lobbying etc.
Reason very few countries have been able to export their fighter jets so far. Even our typhoons who was supposed t have sealed a deal with Bahrain by now, yet we are still negotiating with them in this, notwithstanding the influence we have over Bahrain and all other gulf/European countries who have already received/signed for the Typhoons. So I agree with Genesis its true it's not easy at all.
I don't think the J10 has been offered for export (apart from Pakistan, which i dont think they will go for it as they already got JF17)?

Back in 2009 it flew in Pak colours in kamra.
It was rejected when blk 2 was on paper J-10 didn't provided much of a different system than that.
RD-93 is now directly sold to pak,al-31 won't be a problem.

There was also a misunderstanding between the islamic leaderships as the design was originally from Israel.

Well, you might be right, however, I don't think the Chinese will find it difficult to convince Russia to allow them to sell the AL-31 engines to any prospective customer. Just like they have been able to export Russian engines to Pakistan for JF17 without any issues so far.
So I don't think that should be a problem. Until the WS-10 matures/is reliable enough and can be more easilly mass produced to meet the needs of the PLAAF and foreign customers

j-11 not avaliable for export as its a un-licensed version of the su-27
russia agrees to continue to supply engines to china and other parts they need for the j11 project but on the condition it is not exported.

Any news coming from Russia regarding the Su-35 is pure bullsh*t. It's the same rumors they've been spreading for the last several years. The news is almost always wishful thinking and often times contradictory.

I'll provide the example.

Earlier this year, the Russians say they will deliver the first four Su-35s by the end of 2016.
