And btw Maithili brahmins, saraswat brahmans and brahmans of south kanara 're heavy meat eaters, Kshtriyas as pointed out in post#157 were always non vegetarians.
In my family almost everyone's a vegetarian but we don't have any issues with those who eat non-veg or beef. And I expect ppl to be a lil more liberal minded and not force one's eating habits on others.

First rashtrapathi bhavan is not for sale, but they can have a better bhavan when they sell it for say around 8000 as they are doing now but is still poor. That is also common sense.

Secondly, for those poor farmers who have cattle specially cows well cow urine, cow dung is very use full, we will promote it for medicinal purpose and increase it's rate so that those have cattle generate enough income. Total Ayurvedic . It's just about marketing buddy

well in india we buy 5 litres every month it is used for many purposes

I actually eat very little beef, even in Kerala it was usually onlu when my uncle ordered it (my father being a veggie has no relationship with any meat at all). So for me it's not a personal issue. For me it is just the thinking that religion has to have precedence over the 100 other things because of purely political reasons that irritates me.

Not so long back hindus used to sacrifice animals. Albeit it was banned by the government. Our next generation would prolly think of animal sacrifices as something that was sacrilegious in hinduism. Fair enough!!
I seriously don't understand the religion angle here. As the torchbearer of hinduism I'm sure you know it was Buddhism which propagated vegetarianism(so also Jainism).
Now don't deny this fact too.

And if cow was so sacred then let me tell you there're hundreds of emaciated cows on the Indian roads, nobody even cares to feed them other than on festivals. How about clearing the streets before banning beef??

Even before I posted that pic on another tgread I was aware that Putin never said anything like that (Though Russia has a policy to not let any religion influence their politics).

Why should you be against secularism?? I agree that there should be no special privilege given to anyone (majority or minority) in our country. Ppl should be treated equally, nobody should be above the law (neither on the basis of religion nor the basis of ones financial status).
When you push forward the interests of majority you don't realise you're curbing the interests of minority. Nope, I am not talking about appeasement.
As a Hindu, I don't have any issue with anyone around me eating beef. Hinduism is one of the oldest religion in the world and for a reason. So far it has been able to evolve itself with changing times. I see hinduism as one of the most liberal religions (in its true sense!!).
How will forcing your dietary habits on somebody else help you?? Give one good logic??

Sanghi parivar- the dirt of the society - you are, will be purged out of the system, slowly and steadily. What India need is NOT ultra rightwing Sanghi Mussolini worshippers, But the religiousness of Indian society as a whole reduces and a mutual acceptance happens. Years back, I believed Sunni Muslims are the only(generally) bigotry filled religious group which still holds true, But, *Today* RSS-Hindus and rightwing conservatives pose a much bigger threat, which many of the Hindus cannot accept due to their own belief that we are the peaceful, secular people. RSS is not average Hindu. they are trained ultra religious groups with their own believes which are enforced. RSS/Sanghi radical forces are trying to topple democracy and destroy secular values which holds this country together. They want to kill Christians and Muslims -No doubt regarding that. RSS and it's ideology moulded by extremists like Hedgewar, Golwarkar, Mussolini etc and are much more threatening than Taliban. If Indian people accommodate this Knicker wearing extremists, destruction of our society is almost sure.

Most of the general populace have no idea about Hindu terrorism, except that people assumes since Sanghis are around the temples and claims as nationalistic, they are our "protectors"(of Hindu). while, average Hindu or Muslim does not have iota of knowledge about the hate ideology of RSS/Hindu-Rashtra proponents. It is indeed, India's failure to eliminate RSS out of our system.
