the debate should be over now that the quaids wants this or that.
We want a islamic state and let me tell you islam is the most liberal religion.
we can debate what really liberalism is??
Can we debate it????

My friend, if through democratic means, you can make the country more Islamic, like the AKP party in Turkey, then more power to you, but Pakistanis will never allow their liberties to be taken from them, the TTP, AQ, Salafi, LeJ types are unacceptable, and the Pakistani Security Forces will fight them to the death. :pakistan:

To paraphrase another great man, "Give me liberty, or death", there is no in-between, it's not only the fascists that know how to die, and most of the fundo's can't even do half of what we have done for our country. :pakistan::pakistan:

Quaid Ka Pakistan Paindabad. :smitten:

who is we?

How about winning an election, securing two thirds majority and amending the constitution your way. Till that time there is no such thing as "we want...".

And what Quaid had in his mind is still relevant as he was the founding father. As relevant as Washington's thoughts are for USA or Khomeini's thoughts are for Iran.

Founding fathers always enjoy a special status in the history of nations.

I like your bolded statement.
but bro turkey also shifting its position and starts tilting towards Islamic principals from secularism.
So what our quaid says is not like quran.
we can change ourselves and we should according to our demand and times necessity.
democratic system is the closest to Islamic system.
through democracy we can adapt ourselves in islamic law.

Founding fathers definitely have a special status.:agree:
But we should choose what is right for the time being.

Pakistan is not even close to a ISLAMIC state. Its more like a mixture of democracy secularism and corrupt version of islam.

please if you feel that way remove your pakistani flag....

hey, whats the problem?
pakistan is definitely not a islamic state, we are bit mixture of democracy, dictatorship, secularism.
Certainly not an islamic state but a muslim state ruled by muslims.
Muslim state and Islamic state are two different things.

Everyone has the right to share his thoughts,
don't try to be mumtaz qadri, if you dont like his thought then kill him.
Living in britain you have the right to say what you want, so why you have full stopped him.
By the way I dont like division of india,
it divides the muslims more than Hindus.
It was all british planned program.
you dont like division in afghanistan and iraq, and off course bangladesh.
but you like division of india right.
the divisions amongst muslims and hindus were created to manipulate regional agendas and they succeeded.

Well this sums it all up. The biggest threat to Pakistan is not merely external but the unholy collusion between India and born again Alqaeda supporters.

Is history repeating itself for we have witnessed one such alliance earlier on as well between Congress and Right wing religious parties pre 1947, and hopefully the results won;t be any different this time either!!!

And yes British did create a lot of mayhem by unfairly dividing Punjab and Bengal, while handing UP and Kashmir to India. Had they not done that and been fair there wouldn;t have been much of a division of muslims.

agree with you to some extent..
Muslims of sub-continent should have stayed united but under Indian ruling system no way.

Haha so let me guess you are a Maududi follower who had the same dream that Muslims of India will take out the Hindu Government and rule the roost.Believe me i would be scared of Mullahs if they had any intellectual person like Jinnah among them who could do something but right now they only have jahalat among them so nothing to worry about. If you think you could bring change in Pakistan through bomb blasts then Good Luck!
PS: If Pakistan is a secular state then i guess you must invent a new definition for secularism.Although Jinnah struggled for a secular country where every religion live in harmony and independently with all their religious rights. But after death of Jinnah, this country became all about Islam. When there is 90%+ population of a specific religion lives in a country, it becomes hard for minorities to survive or enjoy living in such country. For Hindus it was harder because they always have a choice to live in a neighbor country which is "religiously" more suitable for them. Just like many Muslims migrated from India to Pakistan after partition, many Hindus left Pakistan for India after partition.

Remind me again that i have to do a wiki research on Maududi to find out who this guy is.
Do you have islam phobia or something? I think Fox News viewers have way less islamic phobia then you guys.

Why is it that your posts are more about attacking those with a different opinion than about substance.

If everybody would have agreed to a certain thought there wouldn't have been any need for forums.

So how about refuting his claim by some valid arguments and historical documented arguments or is it too much to ask?

Maududi was linked with the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt, which is also a Masonic organization. Ayatollah Khomeini was also connected with this Muslim Brotherhood. So is Al Qaeda, via Abdullah Azzam and Al-Zawahiri.
