What's new

Why is great philosopher Kautilya not part of Pakistan’s historical consciousness?

Your arguments are very childish, naive, utterly lack of education, and laughable when I read how well doc has presented his arguments.

@padamchen your intellect doesn't suit engaging in debate with the above poster.

Your well wisher,

Cheers

Thank you. I'm just an old man about to hit the sack.

Expending what few oats he has left for the day.

Cheers, Doc

Doc when we all started debating this you really impress me your Parsi intellect but know after few pages of this thread you suddenly became a typical Indian in Khaki Chadi man that should not be your standard, don't stoop to that level.

Respect for your earlier posts.

Bro I am an Indian.

Khaki is just one of our colors.

Mine traditionally is white.

Cheers, Doc

@django @Amulet

Do you guys realize how diverse your own country is?

I spent two gorgeous hours looking through photos of two young Punjabi cyclists cycling through Gilgit. Hunza. The Karakorum highway. Thanks to my friend @ghazi52

Go through those links.

See the difference between the cyclists (Indics) and the mountain kids.

India is the same. On a scale 8 times bigger.

Now think.

Cheers, Doc

We are not talking about race but philosophy and religion and in Pakistan accept 1 or 2% we are on same page unlike India.

Exactly.

Which is the narrative you need to suppress and replace.

If you want to cut the umbilical cord to India.

Your narrative is the one the world accepts.

@Kaptan 's is the one which will take a lot of jugglery, is way late, but if it takes, will give you an identity separate from India. And not subservient to.

Think some more ....

Maybe because he belonged to the age of Ignorance?

I smell sarcasm but Bro you people are fast enough to label every thing pre-Islam in subcontinent to Hindu but this is not the truth.

Try to wear different chadi other than Khaki.
Irrespective of Hindu or non Hindu, isn't non Islamic period is considered as age of ignorance?

My Dear check the Arab history and then speak Islam bring age of revolution to a dark society even Islamic scientist book used as syllabus till late 17th century even in this subcontinent Islam gave you sense of learning discipline in food and clothing and for very first time this region united under one umbrella of Muslim empire ruled over 1000 years.

Because our national narrative is based on being "Citadel of faith", and not Citadel of knowledge.

When I can be content and have no identity crises as a Muslim while accepting my Hindu/Buddhist ancestors, why can't other Pakistanis who still cling on to myths of being Abbasi, Umayyads etc do the same?

Arabs still remember their pre-islamic prominent personalities and celebrate them, while we are taught by our religious clergy that being a Hindu/non muslim is unclean etc and how brave were the Central Asian and Persian looters who destroyed and butchered our ancestors and desecrated religious places of worship, no wonder why we see so many Pakistanis here and other places making fun of Hindus whenever India is mentioned, forgetting not only that there are millions of patriotic Pakistani Hindus, but also, more than likely, their ancestors themselves were Hindus*

Seriously confused people, trying to adapt a foreign narrative. Just be content with what you are today and teach your true history instead of inventing fake family trees and origin myths.

* I know Hindusim is a syncretism of different faiths, philosophies etc.

Splendid! You are fast becoming my favorite Pakistani poster!
Clarity of thought and identity!

Indian logic. Cut pieces of Pakistan and paste them to the Ganga and Dravidia. Simple. Now it is Indian heritage because it ran away to Ganga India. Now the junglees can expand their chests in pride. Look how great we Indians were. Look the magic that was India. Blah Blah.

yeah I am sure Islam gave us sense of learning discipline in food and clothing ... I am sure @padamchen can vouch for it as his people felt the revolution of Islamic scientist way before we felt in the subcontinent.

Arabs were always a very advanced race. In every way.

We learned a lot from them.

Some of the Islamic world's greatest advances in science, art, architecture, food, poetry, literature - all Arab.

Cheers, Doc

First of all Pakistan does own all of Gandhara history, which was mostly Buddhist civilisation and culture which declined after invaders white hunas who ruled Gandhara region in later phase converted to hinduism. Chanakya though have very bad reputation in Pakistan as politicians mostly use his name when describing someone cunning and shrewd, also the fact that he was hindu doesn't help.
