I have been saying for some time when you think Iran think China not India. You want sounds, huff, puff, big talk and boasting then by all means believe the Iran/India nexus.
I have concluded that there is nothing in common with India and Iran. I want Pakistani's to please note this next time they read some bubble of hot air that some Indian's gives off on these forums about Chah Bahar, Indian Navy and the $999,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 investment they are about to put into Iran. It;s the same crap being rehashed again, again and again.
I have just come home and on the way back from work I was stuck in traffic jam for about half a hour. During that time the traffic moved but at snail pace. While stuck in the jam a lady on the third lane ( I was in middle lane ) asked to give way to her so she could shift to lane one. I did. For the next 30 minutes we were abreast and then we were gone.
Iran and India enjoyed a similar relationship. A one point alignment brought about by the sanctions regime where Iran had hardly anybody to turn to. In these circumstances from what I have read the Indian's did what they are good at. Big talk and cheapskating. The Iranian's now know what India is. When it came to the IPI gas India jumped when Uncle Sam said so. When it came to sanctions India voted with Iran's tormentors. The reality is India has one hand on Uncle Sam the other on Isreal. Everybody can see that and you Pakistani's think the Iranian's are so dumb not to see that? I mean the two countries that were close to bombing Iran to stone age are India's strategic allies for gawds sakes. This is what you get.
USA + Isreal + India
Now please somebody tell me how in gawds name is Iran going to fit in the above grouping? This leaves Iran naturally looking toward Russia and emerging China. The China factor is the one to look at when talking about Iran. Do you know who already is the biggest trading partner of Iran? Yes China. Do you know who looks like is going to biggest investor in Iran? Yes China.
The reality is as China rises and rises the economic magnet pull it is generating is going to be felt in all regions but in particular those that lie in it's giant shadow. Iran is one of them. Iran and China have a very ancient history of trading. The original Silk Road linked Iran with China. So CPEC is not about Europe. Not about USA. It is about emerging China and that is where ( east ) that Iran will increasingly start looking at.
Admiral Sun Jianguo, deputy chief of staff of the People’s Liberation Army is on a visit to Iran and this is a pointer to the future. Even the Nuclear Deal was pushed by China and US relented because it know it could not hold China out far too long.
Click > China said to seek deeper military ties with Iran
So to the Pakistani's forget about India. Look at China. And another thing the Iranian's will never give their soil to India or any third country. The 20th century history of being pushed around by foreign powers has created a deeply insular people who will not budge one inch on their soverignity.
And my bet is as China's shadow rises as it will can you imagine the economic pull that will create. do you guy's think China will ignore a country with massive oil reserves and hostile to the very powers it is sailing against?
So watch the Chinese ....
